Your phone had been going crazy all night to the point you could not sleep. It was all calls from Harry and some from Parker but you did not want to talk to anyone. When you had asked for time you hadn't expected him to continuously call you.
"What?" You screamed as you answered his phone call. You could hear heavy breathing coming from the other end of the line. "Harry?" You tentatively asked.
"It was him. He was the one that broke us up." He had slurred speech and he was repeating the same two sentences to you.
"Are you drunk?" You had never seen Harry drink a drop when you were around so you didn't know he did it.
"I might," hiccup "have had something to drink. I miss you and he ruined us. He ruined us." It broke your heart to hear him like this; why was he always putting you into these positions?
"I'm coming over, stay at home okay?" You spoke slowly and patiently as you would to a child. You didn't hear anything from his end and you looked at your phone only to see he hung up.
You shook your head and called the local cab service and waited for the ride outside. The things you would do for him, the power he held over you was astonishing. Was this what love was like?
~~~
"Thank you," you told the cabbie as you handed him the money and tip outside of Harry's home. All of the lights were on in his house making it a beacon on the dark street.
"No problem Miss." The man nodded at you and drove off, leaving you alone on the sidewalk. You braced yourself for what you were about to see as you walked into his house through the unlocked front door.
"Harry? It's me, I came by." You called through the open house and you saw him fly down the stairs. He immediately came at you and held you close; you could smell the alcohol on his breath.
"It was Parker baby," he blubbered in his drunken haze. You looked at him quizzically.
"What was Parker?"
"He was the one that called her. He was the one who broke us up." He came to rest his face in the crook of your neck as he nuzzled you.
His warm breath hit your neck as he whispered, "I love you so much." He continued to rub his face against your skin, getting comfortable as you held him. It was with difficulty to hold him up as he resembled dead weight as he just clung to your tiny frame. His knees had been bent to reach the crook of you neck and you knew he had to be in discomfort.
"I know you do. Come on let's go and get you to bed." You pulled him away from your neck and steadied him on his legs before putting your arm around his waist, holding him up and right up against your side.
With a great difficulty you were able to get him upstairs and in his room. He collapsed on his bed right away and you knew he was out like a light. You took off his shoes and peeled away his jeans, damn them for being so tight. After you pulled his jeans off you propped him on his pillows, pulled the blanket over his still form, and pushed the hair that had fallen off of his face.
"What am I going to do with you?" You spoke aloud as soft snores filled his room. You toyed with his hair as you watched him peacefully sleep. You smiled softly as you looked down upon him and went to grab some medicine and water for when he woke up in the morning.
You placed all of his items on the nightstand and gave him a lingering kiss on his forehead. You had yet to let yourself delve into your mind about the things he had said about Parker. It was going to be a long night you could just tell.
You went back down to his living room and made yourself a makeshift bed on his couch; it was comfortable but not that comfortable.
You nodded off and for a moment it felt as though you were weightless, letting yourself become one with the peaceful tranquility that sleep offered. You didn't know how long you were in such a state but it wasn't until a voice came through that it confused you. "Shh, it's okay I've got you." You felt something warm and wet touch your forehead but you were in the state of peace and you didn't want to open your eyes.
Your head gently touched something fluffy which lulled you deeper into bliss.
"Sleep baby girl, I've got you." More warmth surrounded you and you out.
~Harry's POV~
Though I was still buzzed I had more of a feel of the things around me. I was completely aware of the girl snuggled right up against me and the intoxicating scent of her hair that I caught each time she wiggled around.
I ran my hands through her hair and she sighed in content. I loved her so much and she loved me, we would be together again, this time without Parker between us.
~Your POV~
You awoke in Harry's bed without him in it. Looking around the room you noticed all the places significant things had happened between the both of you.
You had to think long and hard about whether ending the relationship between the both of you would be the right call. Was the love that was there of any importance? Where exactly did you stand with him? Would he just break your heart and trust yet again?
Question after question came to your mind like bullets hitting a target board and you turned to focus on one of the pictures to rid yourself of them. You picked up the closest one and looked at it; it was of course you and him together. It was a photo he had taken and it was absolutely ridiculous. Shaking your head and putting the picture back in its place you got up and stretched for a few moments.
"Harry?" You called out but you didn't get a response. A part of you knew something was up but you didn't know what.
You called out his name again in hopes that he had not heard you the first time but again your ears were met with a strained silence. The house creaked a few times and you moved from room to room looking for a sign of life.
Once you had made it into the kitchen a note was on the counter as was a tall glass of water. You put your hand against the glass and it felt cool against your palm. You picked up the white paper from the counter and read his writing.
Had to take care of things. I'll be back soon, I love you.
Sighing as you placed the note back down on the counter you thought about what Harry had said last night about it being Parker that had broken you to up.
It didn't make sense; Parker had no idea about the two of you, right? You both had always been so careful at school and Parker had only started to talk to you a few weeks into your relationship. Why would he care if he did know though?
You thought back to the time where he had come to your house and told you he worried about your wellness and that Harry was not a good man. It had been so random that he had shown up and know the more you thought about it the stranger the situation had become.
You replayed his words in your mind and things began to piece together slowly but they did.
"I think he has you fooled, I don't think he's a good guy." "I just want you to be safe." "I really like you." "I guess I was a bit jealous he got to see you all the time at lunch."
Now that you really looked into it it seemed a bit creepy some of the things he would do. Where you over analyzing the situation and making something of a nice guy that he wasn't? It was the pure instinct within you that said maybe you weren't too far off on your theories.
This was Parker you were thinking about though! You had gone to school with him your whole life; rational thoughts needed to be had before you jumped to any conclusions.
You heard a car door slam from outside and the jingle of keys signalizing Harry was back home. You got up and made your way to the front door only to find him shrugging out of his coat. He glanced back and winked at you before placing his coat on the rack and turing to face you.
"Where were you this morning?"
"I had a few things to take care of, don't worry about it." He came to stand in front of you before kissing your cheek and going to the kitchen.
"I don't understand you Harry. I asked for time and you have given me none of that. I ask for getting to know you, I get nothing in return. Where were you this morning?"
"Dealing with something." He ground out.
"You're unbelievable." You muttered as you walked out of the kitchen to grab your bag from his table.
"I'm leaving." You called out and walked out of his house, shaking your head in annoyance. He bugged you so much sometimes; he wanted to work things out than why not open up and answer a damn question pertaining to himself once and a while.
"Stop walking." You heard him behind you and you did as he said.
"I took care of Parker." It happened as if it were in slow motion as you turned around and stared at him with a gaping stare.
"What do you mean by 'took care' of him?"
"I did just that." You must of looked shocked because he rushed forward with his hands open.
"I didn't do anything bad! I just got him kicked out of the school." He said with a casualness that had your skin on end. Who was this man that stood in front of you? Not someone you wanted to have any ties with.
"That's crazy! He didn't do anything wrong Harry," you argued with him but he just shushed you.
"It shouldn't matter to you because you love me and not him. There are no more problems! We can be together again."
"I don't want to be with you! I mean you got someone kicked out of school because of a personal reason. Damnit, this is what I was talking about. I don't even know you and I don't want to be with someone who takes personal issues out on those who cause them."
"Don't say that! I am trying, I honestly am it's just taking time."
"Time? Time is exactly what I had asked for, something you said you would give me but didn't!"
Your relationship was a vicious cycle and you were tired of running around in circles. It shouldn't be like this and it became annoying to go back to the situation of 'break-up make-up' it became old very quickly.
"Why don't we start over? Forget everything and begin again?" He offered, sounding out of breath though he had said nothing for minuets.
You thought it through and decided you had nothing to loss. Starting over would be the best for the both of you. Maybe he would let you get to know him and do things the right way.
"Okay, let's begin again." He grinned and your heart melted; you still loved him through it all. Through the obsessive tendency, the outbursts, the cheating scandal, his hatred for Parker.
"I would like you to stay after class on Tuesday." You giggled as he sounded all serious.
"Sure," you looked down suddenly shy. He still made you blush; though you had new traits about yourself he still brought out the shy ones.
"I love you."
"I know."
~Harry's POV~
*3 Weeks Later*
"Hello cousin." Parker spoke as I opened the door for him. I shot him a glare and let him in. "Long time no see." He joked but I didn't laugh.
"I told you specific instructions and you almost made me lose everything." I spat out and moved to go upstairs to my room. I went straight into my closet and started to look for the items I had hid away.
"You still got her." Parker told me as I was still riffling through my closet.
"I almost lost her if it hadn't been for your stupid little stunt!" I yelled at him but he just laughed. He was really lucky that he was family.
"We didn't expect her to break up with you! She's young, we thought she would run back to you not away from you. It doesn't matter, what does is that you got your girl. She's all yours." I nodded my head at his words as I rolled them around in my head.
"You're right she is mine. Now that she thinks you were the one that did bring us all of the trouble you did she'll never want to see you ever again." I had told her everything that Parker had done about a week ago and it had only made her more happy with me.
"There you go, your diligent plan worked." He said sounding bitter.
"Why the bitterness Parker? You got Elizabeth." I reminded him but he just scowled.
"She didn't like me, she said I was too young." I laughed loudly which made his scowl deepen.
"I'm truly sorry little cousin. Ah there they are." I pulled out a large bag of goods and walked out of my closet and over to my bed.
Photo albums fell out of the bag and I picked one up, flicking threw it. Small little photos of her threw the years looked back at me and I reached to run my fingers over them lightly.
"I never did compliment your photo taking skills Parker."
"You've never complimented me period. I've got to get going. You better make sure you get rid of all that, you don't want your girl to find it all right?" He smirked at left the room and left me with a bunch of albums in front of me.
I placed them all in the bag again and proceeded to go down to my living room where my fireplace rested and tossed the bag inside before grabbing lighter fluid and a match.
After I soaked the bag I tossed the match in and watched as the flames licked at the material. Her soft voice speaking brought me out of my daze.
"What are you burning?" I shrugged and pulled her to stand next to me.
"Nothing, just some old photos." She hummed and rested her head on my chest gently. As I dropped a kiss on her forehead I let my mind wonder and all my thoughts came back to the same one.
I was so much more than just a teacher to you.
