Charlie pov:

By now the town must have heard that Ali and are attending the ball together tonight. It's hard not to hear those types of things in such a small village. My father sent me to stay with Bristol's for well business. But he made it clear that my only intentions was for business. But when Thomas Bristol had to head for Cardiff my business was put to a hold, and now I am forced to spend time with Miss Alice Bristol.

Alice Bristol. A house hold name. Of course she doesn't know that so let me tell you how I see her. Alice is known to be one of the prettiest girls or lady's in west England. And that is most definitely the truth. She has the perfect skin tone and her hair is a great mix of blonde and brunette. She dances her way through society with pretty dresses and a smile beaming on her face. But after spending a month here at the Bristol's manor, I have seen a side of Alice that many do not see.

You see Alice is stubborn to the point. She won't give up until she has her way, and that can be hard to work with. She could care less for money, a lot of people take her as a rich snob, but she is not. She wants to marry for love, she does not like her mother and of course she is not allowed in on any of her families secrets. Another reason my father does not like John Bristol. I would love to get to know Ali more and become her friend, but I need to stick true to my fathers wishes. "no befriending the Bristol's". But it is very hard to when Alice Bristol is always where you are. She is there when I turn the corner, and let's not talk about her obsession with the Oliver boy.

Sam Oliver. I wish she only know what kind of back stabbing and foolish man he was. He wasn't anything like the man she paints in her head. That is the main reason I agreed to go to the ball with her. To let her see how horrible Samuel Oliver really is. You may be wondering how I know Sam so well, and let me just say he's an old family friend that I could care less about now. I just hate to see Alice get her hopes about him, the truth is soon to come out about him. I don't want her hurt.

"Alice are you almost ready, the carriage is waiting for us!" I yelled up the stairs in hopes that Alice would hear me.

Soon Beatrice the house maid came running down the hall and to the balcony. "Miss Alice will be down shortly Mr Alton."

I nodded and then pace around the foyer of the large manor I was standing in. My time here at the Bristols has been a joy really. The staff is nice and is definitely treated better than any of my staff back home. The food is better and the air smells just a little more fresher. Is it bad that I hope to never leave.

I stopped in my footsteps as I saw a motion come from the stairs. I looked up and saw Alice walking slowly down the stairs. She wore her ivory dress and her hair was down in loose curls. Something else I've learned about Ali is that she doesn't like social norms. She isn't a traditional young woman, she is special and smart. She knows what's best for England and that's part of the reason I want to befriend her so badly.

As she walked down the stairs my words were taken away by the beauty. She looked like she was glowing from head to toe. Her dress was perfect and she didn't look to fake. She looked perfect if that's even possible. I looked down at what I was wearing, something Alice picked out for me. Is matched what she was wearing, I don't think she intended for that to happen.

Once she reached the end of the stair case, I walked up to her and lifted her right hand to my lips and kissed it gently. "You look glowing Ali." I complemented her. Although she did not like it when I flattered her, not one bit.

"I see the outfit I chose for you worked nicely." She laughed and surprisingly did not get mad at my compliment.

"Shall I see you two to the carriage?" Beatrice asked.
