Forever Alone

Chapter 5

School, 4:46 PM

After school I met up with Anthony. "Connor, remember, we have practice later at the studio." Anthony had a studio in which his parents own. He'd let me go there to practice with him. We were really great band mates since we were young. "Yeah sure. I'll be there. Let me just get my things and tell the others."

I went to my locker to get my sheet music. I found Summer by hers. "Yo Summer!" She looked at me. "Yeah?" She asked. "You comin' at the studio? Anthony said we were gonna practice a new song. He said something about a Valentines special." I looked at Summer. She was all sweaty and quite unhappy.

"Sorry Connor, I don't think I'll be practicing today. I just found out my older brother got into an accident." She cried.

"I'm so sorry Summer." I gave her my handkerchief. She used it to wipe her tears. "I'll just tell Anthony you can't." She walked home alone. It was getting kind of late to find the others so I just texted them instead.

Anthony's studio, 5:47 PM

It was a relief to see all of us except for Summer. Justin looked so tired from all the work he has been doing. Julia helped Anthony setting up the sound systems. We never actually named our band. Julia was our lead singer, I play the guitar, Anthony on the keyboard, Justin with the bass, and Summer on the drums. We all had a great insight in music. That must be why we all get so along.

After everyone was done setting their instruments, Anthony stood up, "So, as you all know, tomorrow is valentines day. Vice President Mr. Jericho asked me if we could play a love song at the assembly tomorrow." Julia was really happy and so excited from what she just heard. Anthony continued, "So, I call this meeting to order. What songs are-"

-Hold on." Justin interrupted. "Songs? We're actually doing more than one!?"

"Well, yeah." Anthony replied.

"So what songs do you guys have in mind?" Julia asked. "How about we do songs that are mid-popular?" She suggested.

"Something like?" I asked.

"A song like 8 years ago."

"How about a song from the 90's. Such as My Heart Will Go On from Titanic."

"Yeah! That could work...

...I think." I replied. But I didn't think of it clearly. That would mean we would be using different instruments.

"How about we focus on songs from a composer who sung lots of love songs." Anthony suggested.

It took Julia and I seconds to say her one and only favorite. "Taylor Swift!"

Justin didn't like that idea. He wanted dude songs. "Are you even sure that this is our final choice?" He asked.

"I agree. We could do Taylor's songs. Besides, she also does duets like, Everything has changed with Ed Sheeran. Julia and I could do the duet. If there are other songs we could find, let's just go with a Disney theme." I said. Everyone didn't have any option left so we all agreed to do so. Julia started printing out the lyrics. Anthony and Justin began looking up for the chords. We chose our songs and practiced for the rest of the night.
