                                                          MAX's P.O.V.

As soon as I woke up I started getting ready to meet Sarah. This time I decided to tell her the truth. She needed to know, I needed her to know. As I didn't know how to tell her that, I started practicing in front of the mirror.

"Sarah, there's... There's something I need to tell you. I wanted to tell you this yesterday, but I couldn't do that because Rachel was with us, and this is something I need to tell you in private. I like you. But not as a friend. I like you as a girl. I mean, it's not that you're not a girl... No! This is horrible!"- I started slapping my head.

"Sarah, I need to tell you something. I wanted to tell you this long time ago. I'll be open now. I love you. You're the first girl I've ever loved. Okay, no. This is... This is bad, really bad."-neither was my second time so famous.

"I have to talk with you about something. I... I wanted to tell you this before. I just... I'm scared that when you hear it you'll abandon me. What the hell?! Abandon me?! This is so pathetic!"- I realized this is useless.

I decided to stop this not very helpful exercise in front of the mirror and take a shower instead. I wore some nice clothes. Nothing to extravagant. When the clock struck twevle it was time to go. I took my bike this time. The weather is really nice today. Sun is shining and you can hear the birds singing while flying from a tree to tree. After thirty minutes I arrived at her house. The first thing I realize was that her parents' car was parked in the opened garage. And not just that, another car was parked on the pavement in her yard. I've never seen it here before. I went on the porch and ringed the bell. After a few of minutes her mother opened the door.

"Good afternoon Mrs Dawson. I'm looking for Sarah."- I greeted her.

"Oh, good afternoon Max, Sarah is upstairs. We're having some unexpected guests, I'll let her know you're here."- she said and went back upstairs.

I waited a couple of minutes until Sarah came down. She was looking breathtaking in a blue summer dress with her brown curls resting on her shoulders.

"Hi Sarah."- I finally said.

"Hey Max. I'm really sorry. My cousins came and they didn't let us now they're coming."- she smiled shyly.

"Okay. I really wanted to talk with you about something."- I was disappointed.

"I know, Max, and I'm really sorry. Maybe tomorrow."- she smiled nervously.

"Yeah, okay, tomorrow."- I smiled back.

"Thanks, you're the best. See you later!"- she said.

"See you!"- I smiled one more time before she closed the door.

So, this looks like another failure. Maybe this is a sign. Maybe yesterday was a sign too. Broken dishes and now unexpected visit from her cousins. Those must be some kinds of signs. Maybe she doesn't feel the same way. So this is how the universe tells me not to do that. I really don't know what to do anymore. It's hard to look at her and not to tell anything. I went out on the street and just as I was about to jump back on my bike I saw a familiar face.

"Hey buddy, what are you doing here?"- I asked approaching Phillie.

Phillie ran in my arms, so I lifted him in the air as I usually do. He giggled for a while.

"I was visiting my friend Matt. He lives in this neighbourhood."- he said- "What are you doing here?"

"I wanted to visit Sarah, but she has guests."- I nervously smiled.

"Well, you could have met those guests"- he shrugged.

"Well, it's not that easy, her parents are there and it's her family in a visit. She must dedicate her time to them."- I said.

"Oh, ok. Well, in that case, maybe you can dedicate me some time."- he said.

"Sure."- I laughed-" What do you want to play?"

"I don't want to play. I want you to teach me archery."- he said.

"Phillie you're just six years old, you're too young. You can get hurt."- I objected.

"I won't get hurt if you teach me."- he smiled.

"I'm not so sure in that."- I was persistent.

"Please, please, please!"- he was persistent too.

"Okay, but you must promise me to do only what I tell you, and don't tell your parents. I don't want them to hound me."- I agreed.

"I promise. Now let's go."- he jumped excitedly.

We rode our bikes back to my house. I got my bow and arrows out of the shed. We went down the path into the woods. Sun was still shining so there was enough light. It illuminated the trees and if you look at the leaves it looks like there's glitter on them. I put the bow in Phillie's hands and showed him how to place the arrow and how to shoot it. At first we had difficulties but then he learned how to place his hands. He failed first couple of times at shooting. When he coped that he shot the first arrow. It missed. He tried again and missed. And so on and on and on. After at one hour he finally shot and didn't miss. It hit the target, not in the middle, but at least it did. We were both excited, happy, tired and thrilled all at once. We jumped there in the middle of the woods. I picked him up and lifted him in the air.

"Well that was a good shot!"- I said enthusiastically.

"I told you I can manage it out!"- he said sweeping the sweat of his forehead with his sleeve.

We sat on a large rock and just rested for a while.

"You should go home. Your parents are going to be worried."- I said.

"Yeah, that's probably a good idea. See you at the daycare then."- he smiled leaving the bow.

"Do you want me to walk you home?"- I asked.

"No, I'll be fine. I can go home alone, besides it's not night."- he smiled.

"Okay buddy. See you!"- I greeted him.

After Phillie went home, I picked up my bow and arrows and went back home along the path. When I came home I turned on the old radio on the kitchen table and poured myself a glass on water. A particular news got my attention.

"Prisoners from the prison out the Caelum area have escaped today. The government is trying the best to keep them away but it seems they're heading towards Caelum. We're advising all citizens to stay in their homes, lock up all the entrances and don't let any stranger inside. The cities on the border are the first to be attacked so we aware them to take strong precautions..."- said radio news host.
