Going to the doctors clearly wasn’t something you enjoyed doing. Every time you go they always hound you about something. Whether it’s weight, blood pressure, your stress level. They always manage to find something wrong. Also when they did their stupid physical exams the doctors hands always felt like ice cubes on your warm skin. But you knew you had to just go and get it over with because the longer you pushed it off made no difference in what would happen when you went.
They’re still going to hound you about whatever they want and their hands are still going to feel like ice cubes.
The waiting room was filled with patients. Clearly the doctor was behind schedule today. Great, just what you needed to spend a whole day at the doctors office for a stupid check up.
Signing in at the front desk the women sitting there explained that they had a training doctor on with the usual doctor today and that’s why they were behind a bit. Thanking her for the information you took a seat in the corner of the waiting room with a magazine in hand because you didn’t feel like being bothered.
The thought of 2 doctors now criticizing you ran through you head but you shook it off not really 100% caring. You knew you were healthy and basically everything they were going to say to you anyway you already knew. This was just so they had it on their records. Hell you could weigh yourself and measure your height at home if you wanted. No copays, icy doctor hands, or jam packed waiting rooms.
Finally after what felt like forever. But in reality was 30 minutes past your appointment time. A nurse called you back and brought you to a room. She apologized for the wait in which you smiled and said it was alright. Having you take off you shoes, you hopped on the scale and then went out into the hallway to measure your height before she brought you back in to do your blood pressure. After a few simple questions she left and it was that wonderful time where you got changed and waited yet again for the doctor.
The time when you can hear their loud booming voices from another patients room because of the thin walls. The eery silence that filled the room making it seem like a jail cell you couldn’t escape. A rapping on the door made you jolt pulling you from your thoughts as the wooden looking door opened.
A tall, board shoulder, blonde haired figure - unfamiliar to you - came through the door. He had to have easily been over six foot. Black dress pants covered his long legs as he wore a white button up with the sleeves rolled up along with a white looking lab coat. You could notice his steal blue eyes as he cleared his throat awkwardly. Picking up your file he skimmed through it quickly. Feeling awkward in your seat you shifted a little before looking towards your feet.
"Good morning Miss. (Y/L/N)." He finally spoke up with a slight nervous stutter startling you a bit. "My names Dr. Hemmings."
"Hello." You piped you.
He clearly must’ve been the doctor in training. He was young and defiantly nervous. But also cute - no attractive - and quirky. You could tell he must’ve been around your age. There was no doubting that. Maybe his hands wouldn’t be ice cold like your usual ancient doctors hands are. Maybe he won’t be so harsh and criticize everything.
The quietness of the room started becoming awkward.
"Um so i’m kind of on my own for this one…" He chuckled while rubbing the back of his neck.
