Luke, Reggie, and I were in the studio bumming about what we found out. Everything just seemed impossible all of a sudden. Alex had left to go somewhere else, but I'm not sure where he went. I was trying to figure out something to do to cheer us up and then Ray's car pulled into the drive way.
"Hey, Reggie, Ray just got home. Do you want you want to go see him?" I asked.
"Yeah, I might not get to visit him for much longer," Reggie said.
I sighed, "Luke do you want to come?"
"Nah, I'm good," he responded.
Reggie and I poofed into the seats on either side of Ray as he was looking at some pictures on his laptop.
"Hmm... Wow! Ooh, I like this one. It's got a good composition, buddy," Reggie commented.
Alex poofed in beside Reggie, "What are you guys doing?"
"Eh, we needed a pick-me-up, and hanging with Ray always does the trick," Reggie explained.
Ray continued to stare at his computer screen, "Does it?" Alex questioned looking to me.
"It makes Reggie happy and Reggie being happy makes me happy," I said. Reggie smiled up at me.
"I remember why I don't like being alone with you two now," Alex replied.
Carlos walked into the room, "Dad. I have a ghost update."
"Okay, this might be interesting," Alex said.
"Really? Come on, Carlos. We've talked about this," Ray said.
"I know you're not a believer, but listen to this," Carlos responded.
"Do I have a choice?" Ray asked.
"No," Carlos said firmly.
"You go, little man," Reggie said.
"After Julie played with her hologram band last night, I couldn't sleep," Carlos said.
"Those songs do get stuck in your head," Ray said.
"He likes our new music too," Reggie and I commented at the same time.
Alex looked between the two of us weirdly, "Ah, still doesn't count."
"I learned on YouTube that ghosts haunt because something's bothering them. So to get rid of them, you gotta find out what crawled up their ghost butt!" Carlos explained.
"He said 'ghost butts'," Reggie laughed.
"Language," Ray scolded.
"Sorry," Reggie and Carlos said at the same time.
Alex and I both gave Reggie a confused look and he Reggie just shook his head and looked down.
"So, I searched the house for clues on who used to live here, and I found a bunch of old stuff in the garage," Carlos continued, "What I learned is we're being haunted by a ghost...who had a dream. A dream that never came true...A dream that was cut short....by a tragic accident."
Alex leaned back toward Reggie and I, "Okay, you...you don't actually think--"
"Our house...is being haunted...by a very talented...chef," Carlos revealed.
Reggie, Alex, and I all let out a deep breath of relief.
"Looks like somebody fell asleep watching Ghost Hunters and Chopped," Ray joked.
"You know how there are two restaurants in LA that claim they've invented the French dip?" Carlos asked, "Guess what I found in this shoebox? A recipe...for a third French dip!"
