Note 🚩Book spoilers🚩: The chapter contains spoilers for the 2nd Julie and the Phantoms book. Don't know how big of one it is but you have been warned. In the second Julie and the Phantoms book we find out Alex has an older sister in college so she's going to be in this one. I don't think her name was in the book nor could I find it online so we shall call her Allison to keep up with the A name theme I guess. What year of college she is in also isn't mentioned so we'll just say she is 2 years older than Alex and 3 years older than Autumn. So ages for this are Autumn-14, Alex-15, Allison-17

Autumn's P.O.V. 1993

I threw my backpack on the kitchen table and grabbed a snack before sitting down on the couch. I propped my feet up on the coffee table and turned on the t.v.. Allison walked by and moved my feet off the table.

"What was that for?" I asked rolling my eyes at her.

"You know mom doesn't like us putting our feet on the table," She said.

"Okay, but mom's not here right now is she?" I questioned.

"No, but still it's not good manners," she said.

"Manners? What is this the 1800s?" I joked. She glared at me.

"Don't worry about her Autumn," Alex said walking in and sitting beside me, "She's just mad because her boyfriend broke up with her."

"He didn't break up with me! It was mutual," She defended.

Alex and I shared a look, knowing not to press the matter any more.

"Why are you watching the news?" Alex asked.

I glanced over at the television to see that the news was in fact on, "I didn't have a chance to change it before mom Jr. over there swiped my feet off the table."

Rolling her eyes, Allison looked at the T.V. as well. It was talking about some new band or something.

"That's going to be me and the guys one day," Alex said watching closer now.

"Yeah, maybe," I responded. I really wanted to be a part of Alex's band with his friends, I mean they were my friends too, but Alex would never let me join.

We flipped through the channels for a bit but didn't find anything interesting to watch.

"Do you guys want to go to the beach?" Allison asked.

Alex and I agreed. We all got changed into our bathing suits and headed to the ocean. When we got there we found a spot and got set up. Allison insisted that she wanted to tan, but all of us knew she would get dragged into the water eventually. Whether the dragging was literal or metaphorical, we would have to wait and see.

Alex and I went into the water and started splashing each other. At some point he disappeared though and decided it would be a good idea to pull on my leg. I ended up kicking him in the face and he almost drowned. The key word being almost, mostly he just choked on water. I would have apologized but he kind of deserved it and I was too busy laughing.

"Okay I get it, lesson learned," he said and then looked over at Allison, "let's go get her." I nodded my head and by some miracle she actually quickly agreed. She probably just wanted to kick Alex too if I'm being honest. The three of us splashed each other for a good twenty minutes before Allison totally froze up. Alex and I looked at each other before turning around.

Allison's ex-boyfriend was kissing some other girl on the beach.

Before either of them had a chance to stop me, I marched over to the two of them and tapped on Michael's shoulder. As he turned around his face changed from angry to confused.

"Autumn?" He questioned.

"So you decide to break up with my sister and then make out with another girl the same day? You know you will really regret your choice once day because my sister is the most beautiful, intelligent, and wonderful human I have ever met. Really it's your lose," I say before turning to walk away.

I could hear the girl talking about how he didn't mention anything about a girlfriend last week. I walked back to Allison and Alex who were back at our spot on the beach. Once I got there I saw the girl walking away and Michael trying to chase after her.

"You know you really didn't have to do that," Allison said.

"I know, but your my sister, nobody gets to hurt you but me and Alex," I say.

The two of them laugh.

"Well at least now I know if I need it one day you'll have my back too," Alex said.

"You know it, now let's get some ice cream, head home, and play some board games." I say.

We ended up doing just that. I don't know if it fully took Allison's mind off of what happened, but at least it helped. It's definitely one of the better days in the Mercer sibling book as far as I'm concerned.
