This is a Tamago Cat, however they are actually a rabbit rather than a literal feline. It has the ability to create fire and use it for multiple reasons, like lighting up a campfire or using it to burn it's opponents.
Likewise, the Tamago Cat is a good pet and is very easy to bond with. It likes carrots (obviously) and vegetable salads, the last mentioned food is much to Fuji's dismay.
It's also said to mirror the relationship Kaguya Houraisan, Fuji's older sister, has with Fujiwara No Mokou. Also, Fuji and Mokou share the same name "Fuji" for fun facts, and both have a positive relationship despite Mokou knowing that Fuji is Kaguya's little brother.
