ANDER couldn't help but hold his gaze on you as you stood across the room. He watched as you laughed and socialized with everyone at the party Carla threw for your birthday at her house. You were completely oblivious about the party, surprised that your friends were able to keep it a secret from you for so long without caving. The party was alive as everyone drank and partied like it was their last- even you since Lu encouraged you to take multiple shots once you arrived. Your body tingled and the smile on your face never left, which is what Ander enjoyed most about you. You didn't notice him staring at you though, since Carla held most of your attention. Ander only spoke once to you tonight, telling you happy birthday before giving a brief hug and walking off to the bar, where he stayed the majority of the night.
"Stop doing that," Guzman suddenly told Ander as he also approached the bar. Ander then looked at his best friend with furrowed brows before Guzman motioned over at you, "You've been eyeing her the entire night, Ander. Why don't you just say something to her instead of being a creep?"
"Shut up," Ander rolled his eyes, bringing his beer to his lip to take a slight sip, "And I don't have anything to say to her because there's nothing to say."
"Uh, yeah there is," Guzman argued, "There's the fact that you're in love with her."
"I am not-" He cut himself short when Guzman gave him a look, "What I feel is nothing, okay? It's just a crush."
"A crush you've had since freshman year," Guzman remarked, finishing off the drink he had in his hand, "It's simple, Ander. Just walk up to her, get on one knee and just ask her to be your wife."
Ander then raised a brow at him, eyeing him briefly before chuckling, "You're drunk, Guzman."
"And you're being a wimp," They both glanced over at you again as Lu joined your conversation with Carla, trying to have you take another shot. "Tell her how you feel, Ander. What could go wrong?"
"That," Ander then motioned his bottle to turn Guzman's attention to your boyfriend, Luis, as he came up to you and kissed you. You two have been dating right after you transferred to school in freshman year. You found the relationship to be simple, which you enjoyed with no issues, even though there were times when it wasn't simple.
"I thought he couldn't come," Guzman mentioned, "He told Carla he wasn't going to make it."
"Well, there he is," Ander drank more of his beer, wiping his mouth slightly after, "He's such a dick."
Guzman grinned, "I second that."
And in totality, it was true. To everyone, Luis was the worst of the worst, especially with how he treated people. He didn't care for people's feelings except his own, however, he would occasionally show the opposite around you. Everyone would tell you that you deserved better, but you didn't feel that was true seeing how much of a bond you and Luis had. You and him often times brought out the best in each other when it was just you two, but when he was around your friends, he was very cold towards everyone. You felt that they just didn't see what you saw in him.
