The Accident

Chapter 7- You Must Know

You arrived in your lab at SFIT the next morning, and unpacked all your belongings, including your blueprints, and your laptop. You sat down at the desk, and took a little time to look over the 3D designs you had spent hours making last night. You had already come up with your hoverboard's features, and controls. It looked great, but now you have to do what you do best, making it a reality.

Suddenly, you were startled by a knock on the open doorway, and there was Tadashi, leaning nonchalantly on the doorframe. But believe me, his reason for knocking was anything but nonchalant.

"Hey, Tadashi. Come in." You could already feel the blood rushing to your face; could he tell?

"Uh...hey, (y/n). I wanted to tell you something. I've been meaning to tell you for a while."

"What's up?" You asked, trying to contain your anxiety.

He took a deep breath before speaking. "Well, you must know, (y/n), I really like you. Ever since...the accident...really."

Fireworks exploded in your mind, and the metaphorical knife was removed, and your metaphorical wounds were healed by relief. You felt like you had just won the lottery.

"Really?" You smiled.

He nodded, looking away a little. You decided to do something a little adventurous. You grabbed a fistful of his red t-shirt, and pulled him close, only two inches from your face.

"I do too." You said, and before he could smile back or say anything, you squeezed your eyes shut, and closed the two inches. You felt his hands slowly snake and secure around your back. After a few seconds you pulled back slowly, and rested your head on his shoulder. You couldn't see it, but Tadashi was grinning from ear to ear.

Yes! Good going, Hamada! He thought, suddenly squeezing you tighter.

"Hey, (y/n)?"

"Yeah."

"Do you want to be my girlfriend?"

You smirked up at him before kissing his cheek.

"What do you think, Hamada?" He felt himself swoon when you called him by his last name.

"Good." He replied, kissing the top of your head.

"We're gonna be late!" You exclaimed, after getting a quick glimpse of your watch.

"Oh! Okay....um....see you at lunch!" Then you both ran your separate ways, and you both seemed to a have a little pep in your step.
