Mick was the last of six children from Lexington, Nebraska. Mick was just a shy guy and my best friend Marla Medders had crushed him since, and she calls him Mickey. He never missed a snap, never missed a game and such, he did spent 17 years playing well until he retired in 1978, just like Fran Tarkenton.

In addition to Fran, Mick was once being a friend of Milt Sunde. Way back, Mick, Milt, Marla and myself had a great meeting about reading a bible, sing songs, and the rest. Mick is two years older than Milt, and I was two months younger than Marla.

Before he retired, he moved to Lakeville to be with me and the rest of the Vikings teammates. Before that, he had helped with Marla's nephews. Mick and his wife Phyllis had three children, Teri, Mike and Pat.
