Your POV

That night we had our first meeting, "okay so..." I twisted my wand nervously as I addressed the group. Hermione raised her hand, "geez Mione, we just got in here what's up?" She smiled, "we should elect a president for the club." I shrugged and she stood with me. "I think it should be Y/N, that's the obvious choice!" Pansy piped up, "well all in favor for Y/N?" Everyone raised their hands, "perfect!" She sat back down. "Thanks uh so- what Hermione?"

She smiled her hand still in the air, "we ought to have a name as well. To lift our spirits!" Everyone murmured in agreement, "any suggestions?" I asked. "Can we be The Anti-Umbridge League?" Angelina asked hopefully. "Or the Ministry of Magic Are Morons Group?" Suggested Fred. "I was thinking," said Hermione, frowning at Fred, "Maybe a name that didn't tell everyone what we're up to, so we can refer to it safely outside of meetings."

"The Defense Association?" Said Cho, "The D.A for short, so nobody knows what were are talking about?" "Yeah the D.A.'s good," Ginny put in. "Only lets make it stand for Dumbledore's Army since that's the Ministry's worst fear." Everyone laughed and agreed. "All in favor of D.A?" Hermione called bossily while she stood on her knees to count, "that's the majority. Motion has passed." I took the parchment with everyone's names on it and wrote, 'Dumbledore's Army' in large letters across the top.

I walked back to the front of the group, "so I was thinking of starting with the disarming spell, I've used it one multiple occasions and I find it rather useful and-" "oh please!" The hufflepuff boy, whose name was Zach Smith, "I don't think a disarming spell is going to work with-" "actually," I cut him off glaring, "I used it when dueling Voldemort last year. It saved my life."

I then pulled out a test dummy that was enchanted it to move its arms and we placed a fake wand in its hand. "Please form a line." Everyone formed two lines side by side. Neville was in the front of the right line and I stood next to him in the left line. "So just point your wand at your opponents and say expelliarmus." Neville looked a bit nervous at first but I gave him an encouraging nod and he pointed his wand at the dummy.

He spun his wand, "expelliarmus!" He called and his wand flew backwards and everyone ducked as it lodged itself in the spell rebounding mirror. We slowly stood and he looked upset, "I'm hopeless!" I shook my head, "no you're just flourishing your wand a little too much. Try it like this." I pointed my wand at the dummy, "Expelliarmus!" The wand flew out of it's hand and I caught it causing people to 'oooh!'

"If you would please copy the approved text," Umbridge commanded in D.A.D.A the next morning. "Four times, there will be no need to talk." "No need to think is more like it!" I hissed as she passed, "wands away!" She ordered completely ignoring my comment. I glared at her before going back to my work.

That night we had another D.A meeting, we were all well aware of Filch and his cat trying to figure out what we were up too, but so far we had gotten away with it. Everyone sat on a floor cushion and I paced in front of them, "stunning is one of the most useful spells, it's sort of a wizards bread and butter really. Now for this exercise I would like everyone to first throw their cushions by that wall and grab a partner."

Everyone did as I said but Nigel was left without a partner. "Its alright Nigel, I can use you for a demonstration. So everyone please form two lines, facing your partner!" Once everyone had done thag I told Nigel to stand in the center of the room near the end of the lines. "So Nigel," I was now on the other side of the room my back to the cushions. "Go for it, remember, stupefy!" He nodded and got into stance before pointing his wand at me, "stupify!"

He flung his wand towards me, and we both flew back. Though sadly he didn't have any cushions. I sat up, "not bad Nigel. Not bad at all, well done." Alright Nigel join the line, can we have Hermione and Ron next?" Ron said something to Hermione, "thanks Ronald." She said with a smile and I heard Fred and George bet on them. I took some of the cushions and placed them behind Hermione knowing full well that she wouldn't need them.
