I woke up from my deep sleep hearing yelling from downstairs. I turn, looking at my clock as it read 8:12 pm, I must have been really tired from helping Soda at work today, I thought. Sometimes I helped Soda at work with his job. I haven't really been getting good sleep anyways due to my constant nightmares, so naps were rare for me.

I quickly got a rush of nausea as I ran to the toilet and started puking my guts out. I must have had the stomach flu I thought to myself. "Great" I muttered. I got up and flushed as I brushed my teeth.

I grabbed a blanket, walking down the stairs seeing the gang over at our house again. I loved these boys, every Friday night we would have them all over for a sleepover. It sounds dumb but it's these nights that I looked forward to. As I walk into the kitchen going to the fridge to grab some apple juice. Darry my older brother eyes me and raises his brow. "You alright kid? I heard ya throw up."

I open my apple juice and sit at the kitchen table as Soda comes in and kisses me on the cheek as he moves past me. I look up at Darry and back at my juice. "No, I probably caught a bug at work." I state taking a sip of my juice.

He looks at me and keeps frosting the chocolate cake he had been frosting. "I don't think you should be hanging out with us tonight then, I don't want the others rough housing with you if you ain't feeling well." I make a angry face at him, he's so overprotective. "Darry" I roll my eyes. "I'll be fine can I please hangout with you guys tonight." I beg. He rolls his eyes at my begging. "Alright kid but, you're going to bed if you start feeling any worse." I smile and get up to hug him, he smiles back at me.

I walk into the living room to see Steve and Soda arm wrestling and Johnny and Pony reading on the couch. Two is watching Mickey on the tv as he sits on the floor. I look over to the other side of the couch to see Dal smoking a cigar as he has his arm draped over the couch. I smile to myself and lean against the doorframe with my blanket draped around me, seeing the whole gang in one room made me happy. Even though Dal annoyed me to hell's end, I still had a spot for him in my heart I would never let anyone know that.

"I thought you weren't feeling good Laine." Two stated from the floor. Gosh, I hated when he called me Laine, my real name is Elaine, I like it. It always bugged me when Two called me by that name. Of course, I don't ever say anything because It's pointless to me. I've gotten El, Laney, or Laine. I prefer Elaine. I look down at my fingers as I play with them, a habit I picked up as a kid. "Yeah, I ain't feeling good, but I'm still hanging out with you guys. Did Soda tell you I was sick?" I question. "No, we ALL heard you throwin' up Laine." He laughs popping some popcorn in his mouth. I laugh and roll my eyes at him.

I start walking to the couch and lay my head on the arm rest, plopping my feet into Dally's lap. He looks over at me, glaring. I giggle at him and put my blanket over myself. Darry enters the room setting the chocolate cake on the coffee table, Two immediately rushes and digs in, getting the first piece of cake.

I gag seeing food, I quickly get up from where I am rushing to the toilet and throwing up yet again. A blush of embarrassment rushes to my cheek, knowing the gang definitely heard that. Soda comes in, rubbing my back. I thank Soda and hug him he holds me there, playing with my hair. "I hope you start feeling better Laney." He states as he rubs my back. I pull away from the hug smiling weakly at him.

I walk into the living room as Soda follows behind me. Dal looks up at me staring at me. "Come here kid." He pats his lap. I lay my head on his lap as I curl my legs up next to me on the couch. I feel him start playing with my hair as I watch the tv, immediately I start to relax. Dal and I annoyed each other but we had our moments. Before I knew it, I felt sleep taking over me.

"She's been asleep for an hour." I hear Soda whisper to Dal. "I wouldn't wake her, she ain't feeling good Soda." my eyes are still closed but I can still hear all of them very clearly, Soda woke me up, he must have thought he was talking quiet. "Will you carry her to her room Dal?" Soda asks politely.

I feel Dally lift me from his lap and start carrying me up the stairs, I'm soon met with my cold sheets. I shiver, Dally takes notice and puts a blanket over me. Dally has that tough boy act but he's very sweet to me. I never knew why but I didn't try to question it much.

I feel him kiss my forehead lightly and he soon closes the door to my room. I'm glad to have my own room, sometimes Soda crashes with me instead of crashing with Pony. I don't think he is gonna crash with me tonight which made me a tad disappointed. He's my favorite brother but I would never let anyone know that.

I smile to myself, I quickly realize that I can't hang out with the boys anymore making me frown. I toss and turn feeling tired, sleep yet again taking over me.

"Elaine!" I feel someone shaking me awake. I wake up sweating looking up seeing Dally beside me looking worried. He sits by my bed holding my hand. "You we're having a nightmare. Are you okay?" I look around the room confused. I look at my clock as it read 2:12 am. "Yeah, I'm okay just a bad dream again" I say looking at him again and giving him a weak smile.

"Those bad dreams are really getting to ya, huh?" I nod wiping the sweat off my face. "Dal I don't feel good." I say getting up from the bed. He helps me to the bathroom as I start throwing up again. My stupid flu. I flush and feeling so embarrassed that he saw that.

"I'm sorry Dally. Why are you sleeping in my room anyway? Shouldn't you be sleeping with the gang downstairs?" I play with my fingers nervously, I look up seeing Dally lean against the door frame. "Soda asked me to sleep on the floor and keep an eye on you, make sure you are okay." He rubs the back of his head.

I nod slowly walking back to bed. Dally lays down in the sleeping bag next to my bed. It's quiet in the room, silence taking over as I toss and turn not being able to find a comfy position. Dally sighs "Holy hell Elaine, would you stop tossing and turning?" I stop.

"I'm sorry, just trying to get comfy." he sighs yet again, I roll my eyes. If he's this annoyed by me tossing and turning, then why doesn't he leave? I don't need him here. "Thank you for helping me out Dal." I sigh. He waves his hand and turns the opposite direction of me. I make an angry face. Why can't he just take a token of my appreciation? Gosh, he's so annoying.

I decide to toss and turn more to annoy him. "Elaine." He says breaking the silence. I laugh. "Yeah, Dallas?" He sits up. "Stop that, it's buggin'." He lays back down and turns to the side to look at me. we're staring at each other now. "I did that to annoy you, you're annoying me Dal." He raises his brow and smirks. "How am I annoying you?" I giggle at him, shaking my head.

"You just are. You're always so grumpy." He makes an offended face toward me. "Am not! Now go to bed." I laugh and nod my head. The room goes silent and I close my eyes to fall asleep.

Dallas Winston was so unbelievably annoying.
