Sunbeams shine on Dora's face, waking her up slowly. She blinks a few times before she sits up on her bed. Tommy brought her home last night after he and her left the Garrison, John and Arthur insited to stay a bit longer.

Dorothy throws a look out of her window to see children on their way to school, sighning she knows that she has to get up. Nick is probably already in the shop, doing what he does. Dora walks to her wardrobe and pulls out a skirt and blouse to put on. She walks into the kitchen eating the rest of the breakfast that lays on a plate, and was probably made by Nick before, which would explain the warmth of it.

After she finishes eating and making tea for her and her brother, she walks downstairs with the two cups in her hands. With the help of her elbow she opens the front door and walks to the shop that was right undernath their flat.

The door to the flower shop is wide open, and the smell of fresh flowers welcomes the brunette with open arms. "Nick?"

The brunette young boy, hobbels over to his sister, a crutch at his side, his left leg has been injured during the war. He was sent to France in 1916 immediatly after he turned eighteen, to fight in the war.

He gives her one of his bright smiles, his brown eyes twinkling at the sight of her and the tea. He may have joined the war after most men, but that doesn't mean that Nick is still the same boy as before. Most of the time he can hide the pain and anxiety from her, but there were always those moments when he gets lost in himself. The war changed him, but in moments like these, in moments he was working in the little flower shop mainly, he was almost like before the war. It is like the shop is his own little sanctuary.

"Thank you, Dora." Thanks the young man, grabbing the mug. Dorothy smiles softly at him, before she takes a sip from her own mug. "Always."

"What happened to your throat and cheek." Dora touches both at Nick's question, remembering last night. "Just some idiot in the bar, but I took care of him."

Nick nods, but the concern doesn't leave his eyes. Instead of questioning her anymore he hobbels back to his working table, puts the cup on it and sits down, different flowers were laying all over it. "Mrs. Alan ordered some bouquets for her daughter's wedding. Did you know that Amelia is getting married?"

Dora laughs softly, thankful for the topic change. "I did not, I guess I have to congratulate her next time I see her."

The young man nods softly and goes back to cutting the stems on the flowers in front of him. Dorothy watches her brothers peaceful form, before she goes to sorting the flowers whose stems he has cut.

Around midday the voice of Finn Shelby interupts the siblings work. The young boy comes running into the small shop, trying to catch is breath. "Dora, Arthur's called a family meeting."

Dora has been part of their so called family meetings for a while now, even though she wasn't blood related to the Shelby family. Nick was never part of their meetings, mainly because Dora wouldn't allow him to be there.
