Calvary Stories

Two brothers paths are entwined as a battle of good and evil rages on. Maybe the lost brother may yet still find the light even in the inky darkness.

Through Him, the universe was created. Yet here He was, mocked, beaten, abused, barely even recognizable as a man. He knew he had the power to free himself from it all, still he remained passive, silent and meek. They say that He was both God and Man. But while he was suffering, he suffered as a man. What could've been going through his mind during those last few hours? How did the man in him resist the urge to flee and free himself from such an ordeal? Why did He do it, in the first place? Was He truly God and Man? Or was he just a man who thought himself to be God? Note: This is a work of literary fiction. It is not intended to teach or preach anything. It does not seek to presume anything, other than what this writer thinks could have happened.

Caroline Freewill is a sheltered preacher's daughter in the wild Indian Territory during the Civil War. Her carefully formed bubble is popped when the War breaks out, changing everything she knows about life, love, family, and faith. Orry Roberts is a poor Cherokee farmer's son who loves the preacher's daughter. When he leaves to fight, he finds the War is not just that of the abolitionists- its his own war. Their lives will be touched by the Almighty God- and also by the actions of man. They find faith is harder when you feel separated from everything you want. Will they be an unspoken casualty of the War, or will they rise above?

A sinner's soul, once lost now found. It was all woe and doom at the end. Now peace, love and joy rules his day for he has found life in the Lord Jesus Christ and he knows that a heavenly home is just waiting for him up there. :)
