Demeter Gaumond, the champion of the 68th Hunger Games, distanced herself from most. She was the victor from district 7 that was vicious and reveled in the deaths of her comrades and enemies alike. To those closest to her, they occasionally glimpse at the collected, caring and motherly nature of the god she was named after, but typically, like the rest of the world, they see a fallen angel unable to use her tired wings to help others or herself. Can a handsome stranger finally help her regain the ability to love? Or will she block him out long before he has a chance? Suzanne Collins creates the Hunger Games. I do not own any of her characters. Only Demeter. Also, I do not own the cover photo.

Tom was always the 'weird' kid in school. He was always teased because his wings were different. Everyone else has white, or black, or even grey wings, brown wasn't that uncommon either. But no one has ever heard of colored wings before.

"Oh, how she had longed to stretch her wings and soar amongst the clouds once more, not a sound to be heard but the roar of savage wind against her skull." This is an original fantasy epic (a really long poem) revolving around a previously caged and mistreated crow who travels to her homelands in the north, fleeing the colony of black-skinned captors who believe her kind could grant any wish. Many suncycles later, a child who saw her ascent to the northern smokey hills and holds it as a treasured memory makes the journey to find the freed bird who may, perhaps, fulfill a wish of her own.
