She didn't marry him for love. She married him so her world would survive. Queen Afia Serwaa Akyɛde rules a living city; a forest that breathes, remembers, and bleeds. When an empire of sun-walking vampires begins converting her sacred land into dead soil, she has one impossible choice left. Marry the wolf king. Eirik Vargsson is everything her people despise; brutal, primal, and made of the same survival instinct that has kept their two civilizations at war for three centuries. He doesn't want a queen. He needs an alliance his pack will believe. So they perform devotion in public. They keep their distance in private. They tell themselves the bond is political. But the bond has other ideas. As the Blight spreads, the forests die, and the Blood Citadels rise, Afia and Eirik discover that the most dangerous thing on the continent isn't the empire trying to destroy them. It's how much they've started to mean to each other. A Crown of Roots & Fangs is an African Queen meets Alpha King romantasy of enemies-to-lovers, political marriage, and a love that reshapes a continent. Aikaterine, the granddaughter of Lord Alexandros, dictator of the Void World, is born the subject prophecy. It states that together with her grandfather and the man she will one day marry, Kitty is to rule over the entire Void for generations to come. Lord Alexandros immediately murders her other grandfather in order to secure his place as Lord over the Void. With the paternal grandfather, a genetic scientist who mated with one of his experiments to create Kitty's father, gone and his research papers lost, even Kitty does not know exactly what powers and weaknesses she may have inherited. Lord Alexandros invests much time and energy training the Princess in the Art. But the more he attempts to mold Aikaterine into a worthy second-in-command, the more she disagrees with the Lord's methods and cruelty. Semius is a poor kid from the slums of the Northern Clans. His overly religious mother fears he will never be anything more than an abusive whiskey salesman like his father. But when he befriends the old lady next door and she agrees to become his tutor in the Art, his prospects change. Suddenly a whole new world is opened before him and he is pulled down a path neither him nor his mother would ever have expected. --- What I have written so far is a work in progress so please let me know if you see any plot holes, inconsistencies, grammar or spelling mistakes, etc and I will try to fix these errors as I continually edit. Thanks! All Rights Reserved If you steal my ideas I will shred you Alexandros-style.

She doesn't speak about what happened. Not directly. Not yet. She writes it instead in fragments, in whispers, in red. ROOTS is not a traditional memoir. It's a body remembering. A girl vanishing. A woman returning through poems, letters, and the ghosts that won't let her go. "Some stories ain't meant to be told straight. Some got to be danced outta the bones." Told in a voice that is part stage, part prayer, part scream, ROOTS invites you to listen closely, but don't expect answers. Only echoes.

[#10 IN REALISTIC - 10/07/2019] [COMPLETED] The year was 2118. All seemed normal; normal, until you saw the dust kiss the sky; a mix of brown and white against an infinite blue. Our planet had changed quite a bit in the past 50-60 years. Most financially extractable petroleum had been drained clean by 2048, and like insects to the light, coal soon followed. I mean, it was never meant to be a problem; most estimates said we'd find viable alternatives by then. But we were so preoccupied with getting the last barrel of oil out, we never stopped to ask what we'd do after it was out. And now, we had to look up and wonder if our place was among the stars, or on the burning dust. --- Sci-Fi Adventure inspired heavily by Christopher Nolan's Interstellar. Cover by Samadrita Mukhopadhyay (IG: @blackmambaaaaa_). With the help and support of Dwijith R Nambiar (IG: @dwijithr.n). Just some short stories from a prompt book I got to get the cogs in my brain to start working. They will most likely cover a few different genres and, to be honest, won't be very good. I appreciate any tips, feedback, and constructive criticism from any seasoned writers! Please enjoy my interpretations of these prompts :)
