Book Two of The 9th Arm continues a genre-bending narrative that moves across Earth, Nyxoria, and the medieval world of Sunsire, following Stoker as each realm reveals a different truth about his nature. In Nyxoria, a world untouched by human conflict, he is confronted not with war, but with order. Not with scarcity, but with abundance. What should have been paradise instead becomes a test of his limits, as he struggles to understand a society that does not operate by the rules that shaped him. Within S'erayah's polyandrous household, he must learn new forms of loyalty and belonging, even as he resists them. And as he adapts, he is drawn toward an inevitable judgment. His presence on Nyxoria is under evaluation, and his hearing before the Council of Elders will determine whether he can remain in a world that has no place for what he once was.

Welcome to the future, where the line between reality and gaming has blurred. In this brave new world, Rosalind Grey is the queen of code, the architect of XP: Experiential Points, the first video game to take place in reality. But as launch day approaches, she is unceremoniously fired and her meticulously crafted game is let loose on an unsuspecting world. It's a worst-case scenario come to life, and only Rosalind and a crew of misfits can put the genie back in the bottle. They must navigate a world overtaken by the game, uncover the culprit behind the sabotage, and save humanity before the tropes and set-pieces usually found in JRPGs destroy them all.

I appreciate any tips, feedback, and constructive criticism from any seasoned writers! Please enjoy my interpretations of these prompts :)

In response to Reader requests, I have created & compiled a brief Index, a FAQ if you will, detailing some of the BASIC foundational tenets of The Withered Land and its universe. This is in no way meant to be a complete and encyclopedic listing of the many and diverse details about the planet Teshiwahur and its peoples, but it does serve to provide a central rallying point for the most common Whys and Wherefores of D'Spayr's world. Enjoy!!

[#10 IN REALISTIC - 10/07/2019] [COMPLETED] The year was 2118. All seemed normal; normal, until you saw the dust kiss the sky; a mix of brown and white against an infinite blue. Our planet had changed quite a bit in the past 50-60 years. Most financially extractable petroleum had been drained clean by 2048, and like insects to the light, coal soon followed. I mean, it was never meant to be a problem; most estimates said we'd find viable alternatives by then. But we were so preoccupied with getting the last barrel of oil out, we never stopped to ask what we'd do after it was out. And now, we had to look up and wonder if our place was among the stars, or on the burning dust. --- Sci-Fi Adventure inspired heavily by Christopher Nolan's Interstellar. Cover by Samadrita Mukhopadhyay (IG: @blackmambaaaaa_). With the help and support of Dwijith R Nambiar (IG: @dwijithr.n).
