Aikaterine, the granddaughter of Lord Alexandros, dictator of the Void World, is born the subject prophecy. It states that together with her grandfather and the man she will one day marry, Kitty is to rule over the entire Void for generations to come. Lord Alexandros immediately murders her other grandfather in order to secure his place as Lord over the Void. With the paternal grandfather, a genetic scientist who mated with one of his experiments to create Kitty's father, gone and his research papers lost, even Kitty does not know exactly what powers and weaknesses she may have inherited. Lord Alexandros invests much time and energy training the Princess in the Art. But the more he attempts to mold Aikaterine into a worthy second-in-command, the more she disagrees with the Lord's methods and cruelty. Semius is a poor kid from the slums of the Northern Clans. His overly religious mother fears he will never be anything more than an abusive whiskey salesman like his father. But when he befriends the old lady next door and she agrees to become his tutor in the Art, his prospects change. Suddenly a whole new world is opened before him and he is pulled down a path neither him nor his mother would ever have expected. --- What I have written so far is a work in progress so please let me know if you see any plot holes, inconsistencies, grammar or spelling mistakes, etc and I will try to fix these errors as I continually edit. Work in progress the following collection of short stories is one that i've written and created myself, this is my first attempt at a short story collection so I hope it turned out ok! The Genre of said stories may vary but i put just as much effort into each one, hope you like it.

Lucile Bradle defies her mothers orders and leaves the comfort of Shollowbrooke, to explore the dark forest surrounding the village. What she hopes to find is far different from the dark horror hidden amongst the trees, watching and waiting.

In response to Reader requests, I have created & compiled a brief Index, a FAQ if you will, detailing some of the BASIC foundational tenets of The Withered Land and its universe. This is in no way meant to be a complete and encyclopedic listing of the many and diverse details about the planet Teshiwahur and its peoples, but it does serve to provide a central rallying point for the most common Whys and Wherefores of D'Spayr's world. "The Withered Land, The Empire Falls: Abyssium" is another early tale in the epic saga of D'Spayr's haunted youth, set three years Earth-time after the events of "Hell's Avatar" and nine years BEFORE he meets his comrades, Nygeia and Lumynn. He falls into the role of sellsword as he infiltrates the cabal of thuggish, bloodthirsty criminals among the forces of the government's army while assigned to the soon-to-be decommissioned moonbase of "Pex'Insava" orbiting some 380,000 miles above the surface of Teshiwahur. There, along with his scheming and duplicitous brother, he meets the artificially-evolved super-soldiers called "The Fae-spawn" and he accepts duties in one of their brigade-units as a mercenary consultant. The brigade runs afoul of a clandestine scheme to conquer Pex'Insava by insurrectionist terrorists using the Emperium's own fascist, anti-human mutant force, a ferocious Special Operations Counter-Insurgency military unit known as "The Nahztreme". Just some short stories from a prompt book I got to get the cogs in my brain to start working. They will most likely cover a few different genres and, to be honest, won't be very good. Thanks to modern science, this family of four's DNA was spliced with animal genes. They may have escaped the cultish laboratory of their youth, but now have to navigate normal human life without exposing their secret. Frustrating enough on a regular day, this becomes even harder when one of them starts to unravel.
