Michaela has no interest in fairytales, love stories, happy endings, or anyone for that matter.
She's not the type who watches any and all rom-coms without making it an internal mission to critique the "happily ever after" fantasy and the idiotic belief in the "meant to be." Michaela prefers the company of books and her tiny, carefully curated group of friends to the social insanity of her high school years, but as fate would have it, that's all about to change.
It begins with the letters that mysteriously appear in her locker, her bag, and her home, from a boy who somehow knows far more about her than he should. They're corny and embarrassing in the best way, but... sweet nonetheless.
Bella, her boys- obsessed best friend, and Lyra, the housemate who lives a life filled with secrets which Michaela inevitably uncovers are a constant source of entertainment, followed by Sam, the most annoying person Michaela has ever met and Lee, the boy who claims to no longer be in her life, despite her ever beating heart telling her otherwise.
Michaela's sharp-tongued world begins to unravel, and it's becoming clear that it might be time for her to finally let somebody in.
