Aiming to solve this mystery, the government sent a small squad of Canadian soldiers into the forest-covered Rocky mountains to investigate. Taking up residence in an old abandoned cabin, they work on finding what exactly this creature is, until they discover something that leaves their outlook on the world permanently altered. "Never leave the mountains" is a mantra Tobi's mother had always repeated, something Tobi has lived by for the last 20 years of her life, believing that those who died in the mountains never belonged there in the first place. Until she meets the four soldiers and her opinion suddenly shifts, leaving her in mental turmoil and her morals tested.

Riku didn't process anything as the newscaster continued on to the next story as he shot off the couch and ran to the bedroom, slamming the door open as he started yelling. "Vanitas! Get up!" By the time he got to the bed and went to shake Vanitas, the raven had opened his eyes and was groaning in agitation. "The fuck is your deal? It is way too fucking early-" Vanitas paused when he saw the distress on Riku's face. "What's wrong?" he demanded as he sat up, sleepiness immediately disappearing from his form. "Sora," Riku barely managed to get out as he started running around the room like a chicken with its head cut off, quickly pulling together an outfit to pull on. "We need to get to the hospital."

"You can't keep putting yourself in danger like that!" Jaskier was fuming, aggressively rubbing salve over the deep cut in Geralt's forearm. Geralt had told the bard it didn't hurt much, mostly so he would quit his annoying fussing.
