Diario de una mamá en apuros trata sobre aquellas cosas con las que nosotras las madres tenemos que lidiar día a día, ya sea con la lactancia, berrinches, opiniones no deseadas, consejos de abuelas que en realidad podrían ser perjudiciales para la salud del bebé, y también acerca de cómo sobrevivir a la parte de la maternidad sobre la que nadie nos habla, pues nos han vendido la maternidad como algo hermoso y maravilloso, pero aquí se habla sobre la realidad de una madre, se mencionan todas aquellas cosas de ser mamá que a veces nos hacen querer salir corriendo, porque ser mamá no es fácil, especialmente cuando vivimos en un mundo donde nos rodean personas con complejos de jueces, pediatras, maestros, e incluso se creen la madre de nuestros hijos, esas personas son mayormente otras mujeres que tienen aires de superioridad y juran ser madres perfectas, son expertas en comparar, criticar, e incluso crucificarnos si nos atrevemos a regañar a nuestros hijos o quejarnos por no dormir bien o porque ya estamos cansadas de la lactancia, así que invalidar lo que las demás madres sienten es otra de sus grandes especialidades, y nosotras las mamás "primerizas", como nos llaman ellas de manera despectiva nunca nos salvamos de atraer a esa clase de personas, pues casi siempre son parte de la familia, vecinos, o incluso alguien desconocido, lo bueno de que sea alguien extraño es que probablemente no volveremos a ver a esa persona. La idea principal era desahogarme, pero luego pensé que seguramente en el mundo hay otras mamás como yo que unos días amamos la maternidad y otros días la aborrecemos, mamás que necesitamos un respiro y no podemos decirlo en voz alta porque enseguida nos atacan las víboras. Tú, mamá que estás leyendo esto, no eres la única que se siente así, somos muchísimas y queremos que nos comprendan, porque no odiamos ser madres, odiamos que nos invaliden, no somos máquinas, somos seres humanos.
