A brief poem about disembodied voices

I used to believe in fairytales. Not the ones where the princess gets the prince, but the one where families' are whole. There is love. Parents stay together. People are happy. I used to pray for that fairytale the way some girls pray for their prince. I didn't need a Cinderella moment, I just wanted peace. But peace won't come from others living a life you deem perfect. Peace comes from living your life the way that makes you happy. He's not coming back, be at peace with that.
