The Aurora. An Alterra ship that has two objectives. The main objective is to install a phasgate on the Ariadne Arm. The second objective is to find and, if possible, rescue the Degasi's. But during a gravity slingshot maneuver around Planet 4546B, the ship is struck by an unknown force, resulting in hull failure and leading to a crash. Marooned on an alien planet, Ryley Robinson must gather materials, salvage technology from the Aurora, and travel throughout this planet to find a way off. But, he gets infected with a highly infectious disease called the Kharra. Now he must travel into the depths to try and find a cure before the infection completely takes over. And doing all of that while being stranded on an unknown planet with Leviathan class predators and genetically enhanced creatures, his chance of survival isn't likely. Wow, I'm actually kind of proud of this intro. This was posted in the Subnautica Amino but I decided to post it here as well. Anyway Subnautica and all the characters/sea creatures don't belong to me, they belong strictly to Unknown Worlds Entertainment. This will contain swearing and violence, so do be aware of that. There is also a plan for a sequel.

Ryley Robinson is someone who can survive on a very dangerous planet. Despite the odds. Ok so this is an au were Ryley just gets to be a bit happier, but its still goanna be sad tho. Also sunbeam lives in this au, BECAUSE THEY DESERVE BETER!!! Spoilers!

Seán McLoughlin was more than happy to come along as Head Engineer on this mission. This trip allowed him not only experience, but also a high position on a Capital-ship called the Aurora. Traveling on a ship that was first of its kind, and the first time he was Head Engineer? Sign him up! However, a slingshot maneuver around Planet 4546B that was supposed to make the mission go by faster, ends up getting them crashed on said planet. Now, he's marooned in a dingy Lifepod with someone passed out in the other seat, surrounded by water and alien fauna, and he couldn't have been any less prepared, or any more afraid. === This story is also up on AO3, under the same title & the account Smokey_Prime9000. Summary: After Al-an's failed attempt to initiate warp drive, and rejection of consciouses's aid at Robin's behest the team is forced to set their sights on a distant planet Al-an claims to be the homeworld of a fickle alien species they once called allies. Meanwhile Ryley struggles to fit in with a enigmatic resercher and her apathic alien companion, all the while trying to figure out just what it is they are keeping from him.. The crew soon finds its best to come clean and wear their ambitions on their sleeves, trust their fellow crewmates. It may very well save their lives.

*** Contains Spoilers!*** The Aurora's crash was a terrifying moment for Ryley Robinson. Everything after was terrifying as well. Discovering an abundance of unique fauna and vegetation unknown to mankind and facing creatures that would make a skyscraper seem so small. His one hope, his one possible chance to escape, was shot down. A whole ship, possibly hundreds of passengers, dead. All of them. Or at least, that's what Ryley thought. I'll update the cover in a little bit when I get the time to draw one myself so it's not just a picture of one of the alien facilities. Thank you for reading!

In the not so distant future, humans have began colonizing the far reaches of space. The Alterra Corporation sent a ship named "The Aurora" out to the Ariadne Arm Galaxy to construct an interstellar Phasegate for advanced space travel. Before arriving at their destination, The Aurora made an emergency crash landing on an uncharted planet called 4546B. Only 1 crew member miraculously survived the crash; Non-Essentials System Maintenance Chief Ryley Robinson. Stranded light years away from civilization on a planet entirely covered in water, he'll have to use his wits, tools and the alien life to help him survive. It won't be long until he realizes he's not entirely alone after all.
