Transferring schools wasn't supposed to change anything. For Lei, junior high meant staying with Sorelle, surviving classes, and keeping everyone at arm's length. Then science announced their final requirement- An earthquake model. It started with a single question. "Lei, may idea ka na?" One conversation became every vacant. Every group project somehow ended with Zach finding her first. To Lei, it was nothing more than convenience. To Sorelle and Migs, it looked like something else entirely. "Sa tingin namin, gusto ka ni Zach." Lei dismissed it every time. "Where's your scientific proof?" They never had one. No confession. No grand gestures. Just a boy who, for reasons no one could explain, always seemed to find his way back to her. Lei called it coincidence. Her friends called it denial. Some truths don't need proof. They only need time.
