This was sort of a test run . . . I picked something I wrote about a year ago that was simple to use as a first post... Hopefully, as I become more comfortable with the site, I'll continue to delve into some other pieces that are pretty varied - short stories, poetry, "thinkings," and a lot of things that I find myself writing in a spontaneous act of self expression. I have never been a stellar verbal communicator, and since I was a child, I've made up for this shortcoming with a pen and paper. It's the only way I know how to stay (somewhat) sane.

"Potom dlouhými prsty zajela do zadní kapsy od kalhot a vytáhla papír a tužku. Tam, kde on nosil nástroje k ničení plic, nosila ona nástroje k tvoření slov. Klekla si a trochu kostrbatě a provizorně na koleni napsala: Jsem němá. Zatímco hrotem tužky zabíjela čistotu papíru, provazce světlých vlasů se jí opět zatáhly přes obličej. Průsvitné žaluzie. Nechtěný závoj."
