I picked up the lump that was on my bedside and hurled it at him, but he swiftly dogded it with an amused look. " Come on" he started saying " I didn't take you for a fool until you started falling for my lies." Those words hit me like a brick rendering me speechless for, but a moment. " I didn't take you as one too because I must be a damn good pretender for you to think I fell for them." I lied straight through my teeth even if his words were breaking me. I loved and trusted him enough to pop my cherry. Motherfucker sure knows how to fool a girl. So I won't give him the satisfaction of seeing me weak. So I held my head up high and smirked at him even if it was killing me _....... ********************************************************************. A poem about not feeling good enough after being broken down in a relationship.

It's been three years after the devastating loss of the Old Village to a disease, known as the Devil's Breath, that nearly took the entire population. Only a few thousand people were able to survive. Those who survived took everyone and everything they could to an underground safe house that was discovered and rebuilt by archaeologists years ago. After living underground for a few months, some of the survivors began to change; drastically. These people would become known to the citizens of the New Village as Mutations. Seraphina Kearney is one of the few hundred that exhibit these transformations, however because of a negative reaction from the villagers, she hides it in order to keep her and the remainder of her family alive. She's been doing this for three years but it's getting increasingly more difficult to hide her abilities, especially when things begin to change around her. Rumors begin to spread about the disease being a planned pandemic by those high in power wanting to rid the Earth of those who are deemed unworthy. But why? Why would they risk the lives of millions of people just to make a "better" world? Who would do something like that? Being pulled in every direction, Seraphina has to choose between the security that the New Village provides or her freedom. Her gift staying secret or her persecution of it. Her family or her life.

On hold! I am lacking inspiration for this story, I may continue it in the future but for now I'm working on other things and this will not be written. What happens when sweet, blind Winnifred Miller meets messed up, bad boy Parker Smith? What happens when he falls for her, but doesn't think he deserves her? When she falls for him, why does he keep pushing her away?
