Dove has only spent a week moving into her new town when she finds herself running into, quite literally, the only boy in school who is more of an asshole than she is.
Her hopes of keeping up her normalcy go down the drain when an arrow lands in her yard that same afternoon, and she finds herself entering into Kevin Khatchadourian's deadly little game.
It leads to far more banter and memorable moments than either of them expected, but with great amusement comes greater loss, and Dove didn't expect the boy she cared about to also be the most dangerous one she'd ever met.
But of course, even the devil can be a bit lovely, don't you think?

I figured. He was a teenage boy, of course he just wanted to mess with me.
"I was bored, and you ran into me. I figured miss stuck-up could do with a little annoyance in her life," I huffed, glaring at him,
"You ran into me! And I di-" He caught me off with laughter, pointing at me slightly with his bow,
"See? You're doing it again. You do a little huff when you're mad, it's dumb." I opened my mouth to yell at him, but instead I closed it. I mentally counted backwards from ten, and sighed softly.
"Alright, since you're bored I guess you won't mind me leaving, dumbass." I moved to go past him, our shoulders touching when he grabbed my wrist, tugging me back so I was facing him. We were so close to each other I had to look up to face him, my eyes widened, "What are you-"
"I told you I was bored, didn't I, sweetheart?" He looked down at me, the grin that remained on his lips kept me still when the rest of me was told to run. Still, he leaned down, my body relaxing as I closed my eyes. I let myself fall into the trap, if only for a few seconds, as our lips brushed against one another.
And then my phone rang.
