The car ride home was silent Emerson drove back to Remingtons house this time. The silence was unsettling, an aura of sadness and fear filled the car. Both Emerson and Sebastian knew Remington wouldn't take it well. They were right, he was sitting in the passengers seat. He looked out the window on the verge of breaking down. Nobody talked, nobody had anything to say. The only appropriate thing to say was "are you okay", but they all knew the answer. When Emerson pulled into the driveway Remington prepared himself to get out. He went inside before anyone could say anything and just went to the bedroom. He collapsed in bed but when he saw all the empty space and missing items it just felt worse. He curled up into a ball on his bed on the verge of breaking down. He felt the bed dip and knew somebody had sat next to him. He didn't look to see who. It reminded him too much of those days when he got sick or upset and just laid in bed, Ash would sit beside him and tell him everything would be okay. Yet he couldn't believe those words anymore. "It's going to be okay..." Remington shakes his head. His breathing was shaking and quiet sobs escape him. She was gone, and 4 years seems like forever.
