Ash smiles looking into the setting sun. Remington is at her side as they sit on the ledge of the complex rooftop. She looks upon the sky. Remington holds her hand but when his grip tightened she looked into his eyes. His eyes held fear and sadness. The soft glow of the setting sun reflected on his velvet brown eyes. It was something she wouldn't forget...

"So, this is it?" Remington asks looking at Ash.

"I guess it is, but it's for the best," Ash sighs her gaze back onto the blends of colors in the sky.

"I'm gonna miss you Ash..."

"I'm gonna miss you too Rem..."

"Are you going to visit when you stop by London?"

"I'll try..."

Remingtons grip loosened and when Ash looked back at him there were tears in his eyes. This time the sun didn't shine so bright, only a small glimmer that reflected onto him. He closed his eyes a tear traveling down his face. Ash held his hand tightly.

"Don't be sad, Remmy, we can still celebrate our last night together. This still may be the last time we'll see each other until then but at least we'll talk. We can make this work, I know we can."

Remington looked down his legs dangling off the edge of the rooftop. If she knew what he was thinking she would have held on longer but she didn't know.

"How can I forget that you're going to leave?"

"Come on Rem, we should head in now, Sebastian might get worried."

"Right..." Remington sighs, he looks at his feet which hung off the building. Stray tears fell down his cheeks, he silently hoists himself off the ledge and to the rooftop.

Ash heads towards the stairwell Remington follows behind her. She stops in front of the entrance to the stairwell, she hugs him, Remingtons arms lightly wrapping around her waist. Her arms around his torso. She looked into his eyes. When he let go her hands travelled to his face, she uses her thumbs to get rid of the tears. He holds onto her wrists, he holds onto her. He didn't want to let go.

"Let's appreciate our last night together..." She moves her hands from his face.

Remington nods wiping the sorrow with his sleeves. He grabbed Ash's hand for comfort. She leads him back to their apartment, Emerson and Sebastian look at them. Emerson gives Remington a sad smile. He knows this would be hard for him. He doesn't know exactly how hard it would be. But whatever he thought it was worse than that.

They sit back down, Remington didn't want let go of her hand. He feared she would slip away if he did so. Yet that night as they lie in bed neither of them could slip out of consciousness. Sleep seems nearly impossible. Remington holds Ash close to him for the last time. Because he knew losing her would make him fall apart. Even more so than he already has.

Sleep drew closer a silent yawn coming from Remington as he held her. He had no clue what was in store now, and he doesn't want to know. A few years of not waking up to her would be hard. The short visits would never satisfy how much he wanted her. He knows that. That's why he knew he couldn't handle it. Even the thought of it sent him in a downward spiral.
