    Toby McAllister was just like any other troubled teen. With a sharp toungue and glare that could cut glass, few dared to see past the sarcastic remarks and pessimism. But beneath her tough exterior, Toby was a girl who had been let down too many times, who learnt to expect the worst from everyone she met. To her, the world was a place of broken promises filled with people with hidden agendas. 
    
    But when her best friend and his group of misfits begin a search for buried treasure, Toby can't help but tag along. She'd never been a people person, but as the group of pogues go through one life endangering event to the next, Toby finds herself doing the one thing she thought she was incapable of - falling for her best friend.
