...Legolas swiftly moved to the door, his strides large and purposeful. He reached out his hand to hold the door shut just as Y/N reached for the handle. Now, she stood with her back against the door, the elf before her, his arm to the left of her head. He spoke softer this time, "Do you see him in me?" Y/N's heart pounded louder in her ears. She didn't look at him; his looming body and blond hair were all she could see. Her mind betrayed her, twisting Legolas' voice into Thranduil's. His stance before her felt intimidating rather than friendly. Her mind raced back to horrific memories of Thranduil, his towering presence, ice-blue eyes, and long blond hair. She began disassociating, standing quietly, waiting for Legolas to grow bored of her silence and leave. But he didn't. "Look at me," the prince said, though his voice mixed with that of Thranduil's in her mind, causing her throat to tighten. The prince raised his hand to her chin, lifting it so that her eyes would meet his. He studied her face, watching as fear grew in her eyes. After a moment, she pulled away from his touch and pushed off the door, escaping to the other side of the room. Legolas' breath hitched in his throat. His body stiffened, and his jaw clenched as he thought of his father's cruelty. He stood facing the door for a moment, then turned to see Y/N standing on the opposite side of the room.
