Sotsona Begay finds herself in a challenging situation. Her parents break the news that they can't afford to send her to the dream school she was accepted to after high school. Feeling unmotivated about considering community college, Sotsona explores other options in the job market, hoping for a breakthrough. Unfortunately, she faces disappointment as the job market proves tough, making it hard for her to secure a decent job. Despite endless searching and taking up side gigs, Sotsona eventually lands a job as a waitress. Though not her ideal job, she perseveres, dreaming of saving enough to attend her dream school one day. Her parents, deeming her ambitions unrealistic, resent her for not choosing a more practical path like attending an affordable community college. This leads to strained relations between Sotsona and her parents, with minimal interaction and harsh criticism of her efforts. One day, while serving a wealthy-looking man at work, he is impressed by her skills and leaves a generous tip. Sotsona tries to return the tip, but the man insists she keeps it. As they converse, he discreetly slips a note in her pocket, offering a solution to her home situation and shattered dreams.
