Cornelius Floyd, after dying in a tragic car accident, is reborn in the DC Universe with memories of his past life intact. Now living in Metropolis, he befriends Katherine Medina and her girlfriend Alicia. Katherine, a brilliant scientist, accidentally exposes Cornelius to radiated Luna waves while working on an experiment. He survives the blast but wakes up with powers akin to those of a Kryptonian, including super strength, flight, invulnerability, super speed, and enhanced senses. With the support of Katherine and Alicia, Cornelius decides to embrace his new abilities and take on the mantle of a superhero named Boundless, determined to use his powers for good and protect Metropolis.
