The 74th Hunger Games should have been a brutal fight to the death, but the unexpected happens. Nine tributes-Katniss, Peeta, Cato, Clove, Glimmer, Marvel, Finch, Rue, and Thresh- get chased away by peacekeepers which leads to them finding a cave. The next morning, Rue is observing the arena and out of the corner of her eye she spots train tracks that lead them beyond the Capitol's watchful eyes and into the unknown. With train tracks guiding them, the former enemies band together and escape the arena, seeking refuge in District 2 with the help of Cato and Clove. But freedom comes at a cost. As they navigate new alliances, dangerous terrains, and the looming threat of capture, they must decide how far they are willing to go for their newfound hope. Will they survive outside the Capitol's control, or will their rebellion end before it even begins?
