A virus has taken over most of the United States and eventually gets to North Carolina, where 14 year old Violet and her twin sister, Fuchsia, barely escape into the city.

While she's there, Fuchsia catches the virus and Violet is taken by an older boy named Corbyn to an organization called SMS.

She's assigned a partner named Weston and together they must make it through the virus before it's too late.
