Chapter 4

"And you're absolutely sure it was my brother?" Dream asked, in a concerned voice. I nod my head "yes" to confirm it. I had told Dream, Ink, and Blue about my weird dream, but they treated it like as if I caught a fatal disease. "Y/N, you absolutely have to be more careful now. Nightmare has the ability to enter people's dreams. And from the sounds of it, he's targeting you for some unknown reason. We just gotta figure out what he's planning, and make sure his plan doesn't go into fruition. I'll be making sure that you'll be protected while you sleep from now on, ok?" Dream explained, holding my shoulders. "O-Ok then..." I said, confused but nervous. "So that was the real Nightmare I was talking to? Oh boy, this isn't good...what could he possibly want me for?"  I thought to myself, as I walked out of Dream's office. When I went to the living room, I immediately got greeted with a hug from Blue. "HUMAN, ARE YOU GOING TO BE OK???" He asked, worried about me. I smile and assured him that I will be ok. "Dream just needs to protect me while I sleep is all." I say, patting Blue's head. He nods his head, and pulls away from the hug. "I DO HOPE THAT THERE'S NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT." He said, while fidgeting with his scarf. All of a sudden, Dream rushes in. "Blue, I need your help. Ink needs us." He said, panicked. Blue nodded his head, and immediately went straight outside. "Y/N, I need you to stay here. Something's not right. Just don't open the door if it isn't us, and whatever you do, do NOT, under any circumstances, fall asleep while I'm away, ok?" He said, while holding my hands. "Ok, I'll do my best." I say, confident. He smiles, and went outside too. I closed the door, and locked it for extra safety measures. "Now what?" I asked myself aloud, while sighing. "Donuts. Let's have some donuts. It's been a while since I've eaten some. And maybe do some research on the other AUs while I'm at it too." I think to myself, as I walked into the kitchen. After a few hours, I'm completely full, and looking through a book that Ink had made on AUs. "Hmm...let's see...there's MafiaTale, OuterTale, AxeTale, UnderFell, UnderSwap, and..." I paused at the page that said "DreamTale". I sighed, remembering my mom and the happy memories of when Nightmare and Dream weren't fighting. "Why did Nightmare do that? What was he trying to do...?" I wondered aloud. As I closed the book, I heard the door knock. I looked towards the door in fear. "Dream wouldn't knock...he has a set of keys that can unlock that door..." I thought, as I slowly but surely made my way to my room. "Oh Y/N," an eerily familiar voice said, in a sing songy voice. "would you be a dear, and let me in?" The voiced asked. I gasped quietly as I figured out who that could be at the front door. "Oh no...it's Nightmare...what's he doing here?!" I thought as I went to my closet to hide. All of a sudden, I hear the sound of wood being chopped, then silence. "Alright then. Horror, you look in the kitchen, Killer, you look in the office. I'll look in the bedrooms." Nightmare said. I can feel the fear starting to rise in me, and I try my best to calm down. "No no no...come on Y/N, calm down. Everything is going to be fine if you stay calm and quiet." I whispered to myself. I immediately put my hand on my mouth when I heard my bedroom door open. It felt like an eternity passed by, until I heard my bedroom door closed. I sigh in relief, and decided to crawl out of my hiding space. But when I did that, I immediately got tangled up in tentacles. I scream as I got pulled into Nightmare. "Oh Y/N, did you really think you could hide from me? You know that you're bad at hiding." He said, putting a hand on my cheek. I whimper as I look away from him. I can hear him growl, and the next thing I knew, I was getting dragged outside. "Where are you taking me?" I asked, while trying to get away from him. "Just outside. I need you to make a decision, and now." He said, while giving me a smile. I shiver, and when we stepped outside, I saw that Dream, Ink, and Blue were tied up. "Blue! Ink! Dream! Let them go, please!" I said, turning to Nightmare. He just looks at me with a blank stare before speaking again. "Now then, I'm going to make a deal with you. If you come with me and accept this job opportunity I have for you, then your friends get to live. If you refuse, however..." Nightmare said, while looking at the three skeletons behind my friends. "I'll be forced to have my allies kill your friends, and make you accept this job opportunity." He said, as the skeletons pulled out bone attacks and put them at Dream, Ink, and Blue's neck. I stay silent for a while, not knowing what to say. "What do I say? If I accept, they get to live, if I refuse however, they'll die. I want to accept so they live, but what if it's a trick...?" I thought. I took a look at Blue, who was on the verge of crying. I close my eyes, and sighed in defeat. "Ok...fine. I accept." I say, not even wanting to look up at Nightmare's face. I hear him chuckle, and he forces me to look at him. "Good. Finally, you said something I wanted you to say." He said, stroking my hair. "Alright, let's go." He then said to his allies. We started walking to a portal that one of the skeletons opened. I look towards Dream, Ink, and Blue, and noticed that they were still tied up. "Wait, I thought you were going to let them go...?" I said, visibly confused. Nightmare looks at me and smirks. "I never said that I would let them go. I simply said that they get to live. Besides, they're going to be important later." He said, while pulling me through the portal. I immediately get hit with cold air, and it makes me shake. "Ah, here we are, home sweet home." Nightmare said, looking ahead. I look to where he was looking, and saw a huge castle.

We entered the castle, and I sighed in relief that we got back home in such a short amount of time. I could see that Y/N was shocked that her new home would be a castle. It makes me smile to see her amazed like this. I kinda wanted to start bragging about it, but I didn't want to sound snobby in front of her, so I kept it to myself. "Error, Cross, and Dust. Take the Star Sanses to their cells. Killer and Horror, I need you to guard them. I'm going to take Y/N to her room." I said, looking at them. They roll their eyes, but did as they were told. I look to Y/N who was now looking down to the ground. "Let's go, Y/N. Your room is just down this hallway, next to mine." I said, while dragging her to her new bedroom. We passed by the throne room, and that's where I felt Y/N lean back to get a better view of the room. "Wait...why did I see two thrones?" She asked, confused. I simply smiled at her and said "You'll see soon enough.", making her more confused. We finally arrived to her room, and I let her go inside first. She stayed silent at first, then finally turned to me. "Now...what exactly is this job opportunity you're talking about?" She asked. I smile, closed the door behind me, and walked towards her. "Well, I've started realizing that my allies aren't enough to spread negativity faster than what I prefer, like I said in your dream. But another reason I didn't say was that I've been thinking about getting a queen. And I immediately thought of you." I said, putting my hand under her chin. "That's why there are two thrones in the throne room, and why I needed you so badly. I need you to be my queen." I said, still maintaining a smile. She looks at me with shock and confusion. "But...what? Why me? There were other girls you could've chosen. Why did you choose me to be your queen?" She asked, while trying to get away from me. I chuckled at her attempts, and answered her question. "Let's just say that you're a very important person to me." I said, while pulling her closer to me. She pushes me away, and backs up. "Of course she would respond like that." I thought, as I turned towards the door. "I'll leave you be...for now. But just know this. Like it or not, you're going to have to learn how to love me." I said, before leaving.
