Chapter 9

I slowly opened my eyes after a while. I look over to my left, and see Nightmare, who's fast asleep. "Huh...he kinda looks peaceful when he sleeps...but I can't focus on that right now." I thought, as I slowly but surely gotten myself out of his grasp. I heard Nightmare huff in annoyance, as I started to tip toe towards the bedroom door. "No...come back...so warm..." He said, slurring his words together. I sigh quietly, and left. I quickly make my way around the castle until I found the entrance to the dungeon. There weren't any guards there this time. "Huh. That's strange..." I muttered. I shook my head, and opened the door. "Oh please be in here. I'm begging you, please be in here..." I thought, as I went down the stairs. When I made it to the bottom of the stairs, I see rows and rows of cells. With this new sense of hope rising in me, I smile and started  looking through the cells to see if Dream, Ink, and Blue is in one of them. After a while, I found them. But they were in terrible condition. They looked so incredibly weak, and had cuts and bruises all over their bodies. "Dream, Ink, Blue?" I asked quietly, making sure I wasn't making noise. They immediately looked up, possibly to shock. Dream just looked shocked, Ink looked bewildered, and Blue started to tear up, as he made his way to the bars separating us. "Human...? Is that you...?" Blue asked, in an unusually soft and sad voice. I nodded my head "yes", and gave him a hug through the bars, and the other two joined in the hug. After we broke the hug, Ink was the next person to speak. "Y/N, you have no idea how much we were worried about you." He said, relieved. We then started talking about what happened when we got separated. Apparently, Dust and Horror liked torturing them by taunting them with food, and would occasionally beat them up whenever they felt like it. Out of the three, Blue had suffered the most. "It just seemed like they liked torturing Blue the most. We don't know why though." Ink said, as he held Blue close to him. "I can't believe my brother did all this so you would marry him. That's completely disgusting. We need to find a way to escape. And quickly, before you and my brother's wedding." Dream said, disgusted by Nightmare's actions. "I want to escape as much as you do, but I don't know how we could do it. We need to figure out an escape plan." I say, sitting down on the ground. After a while of thinking, Ink came up with an idea. "Maybe we can escape while he's asleep?" Ink suggested. I thought about it for a moment. "Huh...yeah, that could work. I mean, I would need to find a body pillow that's the same height and width as me, and hide it so I can switch myself with it, since Nightmare now has a habit of clinging on me when he sleeps..." I say, deep in thought. I see Dream shudder a bit, and Ink looking disgusted. Blue, however, was clutching his stomach. "Blue? Do you want me to get you something to eat?" I ask softly. Blue looked up for a moment, then shook his head. "Human...I don't want you to get in trouble for sneaking food. Especially because this is Nightmare we're talking about..." He said, worried about me. "Don't worry, I'll be right back." I say, while getting up. Before I left, I heard Blue protesting about me getting food, but I ignored his protests. "They're all starving...I need to get them something to eat." I thought, as I made it to the kitchen. I got some bread, bananas, apples, and some water. "I hope it's enough..." I thought, as I turned to leave, and ran into Nightmare. He looked incredibly annoyed, and tired. "What're doing in here at 3 o'clock in the morning? Shouldn't you be asleep?" He asked, as he put his hand to my cheek. It took me a moment to come up with an excuse. "I just wanted something to eat. I'm sorry if I made you upset. After I'm done eating, I'll come back to your-" "Our." Nightmare interrupted. He sounded angry when he interrupted me. I inhaled and exhaled to regain my composure. "Right, sorry. I'll come back to our room." I said, nervously. Nightmare smiled, and gave me a peck on my lips. "Ok, then. I'll be waiting for you to come back." He said, before leaving. I sighed in relief, and made my way to the dungeon. When I went to the cell they were in, they looked shocked to see me with the food I promised them. Blue immediately started crying. "Y-Y/N, y-you shouldn't h-h-have..." Blue sobbed quietly, as he wiped his tears away. I shoved the bread to Blue, and also gave him some water. "I did have to. You would've starved if I hadn't gotten food." I said, while handing the food and water over to Dream and Ink. They scarfed the food down very quickly, and drank as if they were in the Sahara Desert. They looked satisfied after they finished eating. "Thank you so much. You really didn't have to-" Dream began to say, but then froze. Fear quickly filled his eyes, as well as Ink and Blue's eyes too. They immediately backed away from the bars. "What? What's wrong?" I asked them. I looked behind me, and gasped. Nightmare was standing behind me. And he looked furious.

"So...mind telling me why you're down here, and not in the kitchen where I left you?" I asked, in an angry tone. Y/N had lied to me, and was caught talking to the Star Sanses. She was talking to my damn brother when I found her. I wouldn't be surprised if the reason why she was out of bed was because she went to go talk to the Star Sanses. "Uh...well you see, I uh...look, they were starving and I-" was all she sputtered before I dragged her away from the cells. "Wait, Nightmare, please let me explain! I'm sorry for lying to you, just please listen!" She yelled, as I dragged her towards our room. I shoved her inside, closed the door, and leaned against the door so she couldn't get out. "Alright, start talking. Now." I said, still angry at her for lying to me. "Nightmare, please try to understand. It's been a while since I've seen them. I didn't even know if they were still alive or not." She said, nervously. "I really don't care. You're supposed to pay attention to me, and only me. You're getting married to me, not Ink, not Blue, and ESPECIALLY not my brother!" I shouted. She flinched, but she started getting mad. "Excuse me, what?! You don't care??? I'm your bride, according to you! You SHOULD care! You made me worried about my friends, and made me wonder if they were dead or not!" She shouted back, which took me aback. "I've never heard her yell like that before. She must be angry." I thought. But I didn't want to give up. "I'll be right back. This isn't over, yet." I say, before exiting the room, and locking the door. "Hey, what're you doing?! Let me out! Don't you even DARE do anything to them! I'll HATE you forever if you do!" She screamed, as she pounded the door with her fists. I stormed off, but after a while, I started worrying about the last thing she said. "I'll hate you forever if you do". "She was just saying that out of anger...right?" I ask myself aloud. Then I started thinking about if she was being serious. "I don't want her to hate me...I want her to love me...and only me...I think I know what to do." I thought, as I went inside the dungeon, and went to the Star Sanses cell. "You're despicable, you know that? How could you force someone to marry you, brother?" Dream asked, disappointed. I rolled my eyes at his statement, since I didn't care. "Listen, I'm willing to make a deal with you, Dream. If you let me marry Y/N, promise me to not do anything to ruin the wedding, and never try to get Y/N back, I'll let you, Ink, and Blue go. I'll even leave the Multiverse alone...for a while." I say, kneeling down to their level. "But, if you back out of our deal, I'll simply capture you and your teammates again, and let Ink and Blue starve to death, while I tear you limb from limb." I say finally. Dream looks at me, then to Ink and Blue. "Well, brother? Do we have a deal?" I asked, smirking. Dream sighed, and said "Let me sleep on it". I nod, and left him alone. I teleported back to me and Y/N's room, and unlocked the door. "Alright, N/N, now let's talk about-" I began, but froze. I started to panic. Y/N was nowhere to be found.
