Part 42 | Assumption

Two years have passed

All of them were gathered inside Minnie's office except for Soojin. "So what are you going to tell us?" Minnie asks the maknae who was sweating really hard. "You know that Soojin and I have been together for a almost two years and a half. I wanted to surprise her on our third anniversary next week." Shuhua started.

"You always surprise her Shu." Yuqi states a fact. "Yes but it's different." All of them looked at Shuhua baffled.

"I want to propose to her." Shuhua mumbled. Yuqi widened her eyes and without thinking twice she hugged Shuhua. "I'm so proud of you." Shuhua hugged the second maknae back.

"So what's the plan?" Minnie and Miyeon excitedly said while clapping their hands together.

Shuhua was leaning in her car as always as she waits for Soojin to come out. She saw Soojin walking out if the building so she waved her hands.

The maknae run towards Soojin to help her girlfriend carry her things. "How's your day?" Shuhua asks but Soojin heaved a deep sigh. "Did something bad happened?" Soojin shook her head.

"I'm just tired." Soojin answered. "Then let's go home immediately so I can cook you some food." Yes Yeh Shuhua learned how to cook with the help of Seo Soojin.

"What do you want to eat tonight?" Shuhua glance at her side but Soojin was sleeping soudly. "She's really tired." The maknae whispered as she focused on the road.

She parked at the car inside. They have been living together for almost five months already. She opened the passenger seat as she carefully carried Soojin inside placing the older on there bed.

She kissed her forehead befoee walking out of the room. Wearing her apron on she started to cook a simple dish for her and Soojin. "This should be enough for us." she looked at the meat that she's cooking.

She heard her phone ringing so she answered it. "Why did you call Miyeon unnie?" I ask through the other line as I turn the stove off.

"I already set an appointment with Soojin's parents better be prepared. I'm warning you they are scary as hell." Shuhua laughed but it wouldn't stopped her from asking their blessing. She wants to take it seriously.

"Thank you for the information unnie. I owe you big time." Shuhua smiled although Miyeon can't see it she knows that the maknae was sincere with her words. "Always welcome Shu. I have to go now someone's getting sulky." Shuhua laugh as she knows who's getting sulky right now.

At the same time Soojin already woke and was alread walking down the stairs when she heard Shuhua laughing. She noticed that Shuhua was talking to someone. She doesn't know who.

"Bye." Shuhua ended the call as she continues to cook again. Soojin went behind Shuhua, hugging the maknae. "You're awake now." Soojin giggled. "Yes thank you for stating what is obvious. Ms. Yeh Shuhua." Shuhua rolled her eyes.

Soojin has been teasing Shuhua everytime that she has a chance. "I love you." Soojin said out if nowhere. "And I love you too. Now let's eat." Shuhua places the food on the table.

Shuhua prefer sitting beside Soojin. "Do you have something to do next week? Any projects?" Shuhua asks as tried to act it normal. "I still don't know but as of now I don't have any project."

Shuhua's phone was once again ringing. The maknae smiled as soon as she saw who called. "I'll just answer this." Soojin furrowed her eyebrows. It was the first time that Shuhua excused herself just to answer a call.

"Unnie what is it this time?" Shuhua playfully said. "I've already contacted the flower shop. When do you want to go there?" Minnie asks, she and Miyeon were the most excited one.

"After I talk with Soojin's parents then maybe I can come by." Shuhua answered she glance at Soojin who was eating. "I need to go back. I don't want JinJin to suspect something."

Minnie laugh at the other line before ending the call. Shuhua came back with the biggest smile. "Who was that?" the engineer asks as she was curious why Shuhua had a big smile on her face right now.

"It's just Minnie unnie." Soojin shrugged it off.

Days passed by and Shuhua became busy and the reason was unknown to Soojin. She tried asking the girl but it was the same answer that Shuhua would always say.

She tried asking the others but the others also don't know. Shuhua was still on the road since she checked the venue one last time. The day after tomorrow will be the big day for Shuhua and she was getting anxious.

She just picked up the ring this afternoon with Yuqi since Minnie and Miyeon were at the venue.

Shuhua already informed Soojin that she can't pick up the older today so Soojin was sitting at the living room waiting for the younger to come home. It was already 11:00 pm but Shuhua wasn't home yet.

Shuhua parked the car in the garage. She was holding the velvet box as she smiles widely. The lights in the house were already off so the maknae knows that Soojin was already asleep by this time. She quietly went inside while still holding the box.

"Where have you been?" Soojin asks calmly. She trust Shuhua but she wants the younger to also trust her with things. Shuhua was startled so she turned the lights on as she hurriedly placed the velvet box on her back pocket.

"I was with Minnie and Miyeon unnie." Shuhua said which isn't really a lie. "Can you please be honest with me?" Shuhua didn't answered as she sat down beside Soojin.

"You have been going home late Shu. I'm missing your warmth already." Soojin lowered down her head. Shuhua hugged the latter. "I'm sorry if I have been going home late but trust me when I say that I love you and I'm yours only. I promise to make it up to you." Shuhua noticed that her shoulders were getting wet so she broke the hug.

"I love you please don't doubt that. I will always come home to you." Shuhua added as she wipe the tears away from Soojin's face.

"We should sleep." The maknae carried Soojin in her arms.

'I hope you're true to your words Shu.' Soojin thought as she clings to the maknae tighter.
