Part 40 | Cold

Shuhua was wrapped by a thick blanket and beside her was a sobbing Soojin. She didn't want to blame Yuqi because the younger wasn't at fault.

They've already been home two hours ago. They decided to just come back to their house so Minnie drove them back to Soojin and Miyeon's house. The vacation that they planned for a week didn't last for even three days.

Soojin wiped her tears away. Shuhua's still in deep sleep. The engineer walked out of her room to get some water. She heard some voices downstairs so she immediately went down to check on what's happening.

"You know that Shuhua is afraid of the water. You're being reckless Yuqi. Shuhua could've die there." Minnie yelled at the younger. Soojin walked towards them as she sits beside Yuqi. "Don't scold her unnie. Shuhua's safe. No one ever wanted this to happen. Calm down." Soojin smiled at Yuqi who was lowering her head down.

Tears started to fall from Yuqi's eyes as she starts to blame herself. Guilt started to crawl on Minnie when she noticed the younger crying. She leveled herself to Yuqi. "Yuqi~ah be more careful next time. I don't want something bad to happen to the both of you. I'm sorry if I yelled at you." Minnie wiped Yuqi's tears away kissing her forehead.

Yuqi hugged Minnie saying sorry to the latter countless time.

Soojin walked inside the kitchen not noticing that Miyeon was actually there. "How's Shuhua?" Soojin was startled as she held her chest breathing heavily. "Ah unnie you startled me." Soojin opened the fridge pouring some water onto her glass.

"Oh sorry so how's Shuhua?" Miyeon asks once more. "She's still asleep." Soojin replied as she drinks her water.

They heard a thud from upstairs. Soojin immediately placed her glass on the counter top as she run up the stairs to check on Shuhua. The engineer opened the door only to be welcomed by Shuhua who was lying on the floor shivering. "Shuhua." Soojin called out as she kneels down helping Shuhua to lay down on the bed.

"Do you need something?" The older asks why putting the blanket to the younger ones body. "I-t's C-old." Shuhua stuttered as she held Soojin's hand holding it tightly. The older smiled as she lays down herself beside Shuhua.

She wrapped her arms around Shuhua as she pulls the younger closer to her. Sharing her warmth to the younger to ease the coldness that Shuhua is feeling. "Are you still cold?" Soojin asks softly but she didn't receive any response from the younger. She glanced at Shuhua and saw the younger sleeping soundly again.

"I will always warm you up whenever you're cold." Soojin whispered as she follows Shuhua to her dreamland.

"Should we wake the both of them?" Minnie ask Miyeon who was also peaking at the door watching Shuhua and Soojin hugging each other like their lives depended on it.

"You should besides they also need to eat their dinner so Shuhua can drink her meds already." Miyeon said as she leaves Minnie who was still watching Shuhua and Soojin while giggling.

Yuqi who happened to be passing by saw Minnie peaking at Shuhua and Soojin's room. "This unnie is definitely weird." she mumbled while looking at Minnie.

"I heard you Song Yuqi." the younger widened her eyes regretting whatever she had said. "I'll be heading downstairs." Yuqi awkwardly smile at the older as she walks down the stairs. Minnie heave a sigh before walking inside the room.

"Soojin~ah wake up it's dinner time already." Minnie shook Soojin's body gently trying to wake the engineer up. Soojin opened her eyes then closed it again afterwards as she feels Shuhua's body. "I'll follow." Soojin said as Minnie walk out of the room.

"Are you not going to eat with us?" Miyeon asks. "No I'll be eating with Shu." Soojin answered while placing some food on the tray with Shuhua's medicines. "Enjoy your dinner." Soojin smiled at them as she walk up the stairs carefully.

She opened the door and she saw Shuhua sitting on the staring at the television. "Do you want to watch something?"

S O O J I N -

"Do you want to watch something?" I ask her but she didn't respond to me. I placed the tray on the bed. "Let's eat so you can drink your meds already." I sat down beside her.

"Do you still love me?" I furrowed my eyebrows. "Of course I love you Yeh Shuhua." I stated she looks at me and I noticed the sweat that was forming on her forehead. I cupped her cheeks gently. "Did you have a nightmare?" I asks and she nods her head at me.

"Whatever it was. It's not true. I love you and I wouldn't hesitate to always choose you over and over again." I kissed her forehead as I wipe her sweat.

I love to feed her. It's like I'm feeding my child though Shuhua is my baby. I blushed at my own thought. "You're blushing." I heard her said. "Yes and that's because of you."

"Can we eat some cookies after this?" I can see how her eyes sparkle. I pinch her cheeks kissing the tip of her nose. "Of course we can if you'll finish your dinner and drink your meds. I promise that we could eat some cookies after." She happily clapped her hands.

She did as what I told her. For someone who's sick she's an obedient one. I chuckled at her adorable smile. "I'll just place this downstairs." I informed her as I take the plates that was amazingly emptied by Shuhua.

"Shuhua finished all the food?" Minnie asks amused. Soojin just shrugged her shoulders. "You told something to her didn't you?" Minnie arch an eyebrow at Soojin. "Shuhua is really head over heels for you even when she's sick." Minnie laughed at the thought of the maknae.

The end is near only a few more chapters and it's done by the way I'm planning a new story still featuring (G)I-DLE. I'll spoil some of it at the very last chapter of this.
