Journey to You (Part 5)

Forth's POV

The moment Beam is no longer in my sight, I deduce the situation.

Was he waiting for me?
Hasn't he moved on?
What about the wedding?
Why would his parents do that?

I need to know.

Beam's POV

I am furious.
Even if I had no recollection of past, I trusted them because they are my parents.
Still, they betrayed me.

They always told me that they were always supportive of me.
They told me that Forth was like a son to them.
Still, they made us suffer.

As soon as I reach the dining area, I see them engulfed in a conversation.

"You know.......you guys are pretty good actors." I state as I walk towards them, then add, "Not just good, but amazing actors as you actually fooled both me and him."

The look dumbfounded for a second, but cover it as my father hesitantly asks, "What are you talking about Beamy?"

I scoff and repeat their words from months ago, "Forth must be suffering a lot. He had been in love with you for so long, but now you don't even remember him. Its really unfair to him You were right to leave him alone. He will heal with time."

I further hiss, "No Beamy, Forth didn't ask us about you. He told us he had moved on and was happy with his girlfriend. So, now don't worry about him and be happy for new life."

By now, they had their heads held down and I could see from peripheral vision that Forth was here and had heard everything I just said.

He walks towards me and faces directly towards my parents.
If it was another time, I might have said how hot he looked when angry, but I need to clear this mess right now.

He moves further towards my parents and speaks emotionlessly, "I called everyday for two months and asked you about Beam, but you said that he had left just so he could stay away from me. You told me to start afresh as Beam was doing the same."

He looks so disappointed. I sit right in front of my father and say, "Are you still not going to confess?"

He lifts his head and asks back, "Did your memories return?"

I look straight into his eyes and reply, "No father, but your plan to keep me away from Forth failed." I add, "If you didn't support us ever, then why did you even pretend? You wanted me to have a fresh start? What a joke! I fell for him the moment I opened my eyes in that bloody hospital."

I could see my father look so guilty and I heard my mother gasp as I confessed my feelings. I don't know how Forth reacted. He is standing a little behind me.

"We are sorry." My mother whispers.

I just stare at her as she lifts her head and speaks, "We never wanted to betray you both. You are our son and we love Forth the same. Trust us!"

My father adds, "We had no choice. When we met your doctor, he told us that your state was fragile and that forcing you to remember may result in us loosing you. We just wanted you safe."

Forth's POV

Aunt turns towards me and utters, "Forth, please understand us. We never meant to hurt you, but we were tired of watching you in pain everyday. Beam wasn't going to remember as the doctor had said. So when Beam told us that he decided to stay away from you, we decided that it was best for you if you moved on. We wanted Beam to stay away from the past. That's the only reason we had to convince him to away away from you."

"You arranged my marriage because you wanted me to stay away from him. You lied to me so that I would say yes." Beam hisses.

What? Arranged marriage?
I thought he fell in love with someone else. His parents just told me that an hour ago.

His father turns towards me and speaks, "Forth you have always been our family. We just wanted what was best for you. Beam is still not going to remember and he is marrying soon. Its better to leave past at it is."

Before I could reply, Beam shouts, "STOP IT!"
He furiously adds, "You wanted the best for us? That is the reason you will give us when you made him look so broken. Pha told me that he was sad and I didn't believe him because I trusted you more. But, the moment I looked into his eyes today, I saw the pain. You mad him suffer so bad. How dare you?"

He is crying again and I am pretty sure I am crying as well. He looked right through me.

He further hisses, "I am not marrying anyone. I haven't even met her more than twice, but there is this person that I am in love with. You asked me if I remembered. Let me tell you. No, I didn't, but I did see some flashes and I am hopeful I will remember him again. I want to remember again because I love him. Do you understand?"

He loves me?
He doesn't remember, but he loves me.
When he said that before, I thought I heard him wrong, but he said it again.

He turns towards me and says, "I love you Forth. I am sorry that I walked away. I was wrong, but I won't do it again. Don't move on from me please."

Why would he plead? I would rather die than move on.

"I love you too much baby. Its impossible to move on from you in this life." I reply looking straight into his eyes.

We are looking right into each others eyes. I am searching for some sort of recollection on his side as I repeated the words I had said to him when I first confessed, but he looks like he is in trance.

He isn't moving so I walk towards him.

He is still looking towards where I was standing before, then whispers, "You made me cry buckets asshole. I will stick with you for life and make you pay ."

He then turns towards me and adds softly, "You agree?"

And I am stunned.
My eyes are probably going to pop out and I am also sure I have tears swelling, but I couldn't care less.

He just repeated the exact words he spoke when we got together seven years ago.
The exact reply to my first confession to him.

He remembered.

I thought this story needed another chapter before I finish it.

Next will definitely be last chapter for this short story.
