Beam's POV

“We meet after six months, and the first thing you do is give me this.” He says.

“You were a special friend growing up. I had to hand over my wedding invitation personally.” I reply nonchalantly.

15 hours ago……..

I was drinking, in a bar, with my best friends and their boyfriends. We were together after so long. It wasn’t that we never wanted to meet. We just never had time and, eventually, we drifted apart.
I met them, again, recently when I went to invite them to my wedding. We reconnected and here we are now.

Nothing has really changed. We still tease each other and we still bicker.

Everything is exactly the same except, there’s only five of us here. He isn’t here.

“You know…….I met him” Phana said, hesitantly, looking at me.

I know exactly who he is talking about, but I just ignore him and resume drinking.

“Beam" He hisses then adds, “You can’t ignore talking about him every time.”

“I can and I will.” I spoke nonchalantly.

“He looks destroyed. He hasn’t moved on.” He states and mocks, “ Honestly, how could he? He doesn’t even know why you left him. None of us do actually. Care to share?”

By now, he wasn’t the only one looking at me. Kit, Ming and Wayo were the same. I could tell that they wanted the answer as well, but I just ignore them all.

“I was bored. Nothing serious.” I shrug.

“YOU…” Kit cuts himself off, then scoffs.

“Don’t act nonchalant. You broke him. He loved you for so long. He is never going to move on. You didn’t even give him a closure.” Pha spats.
I know he is pretty angry, but don’t care anymore.

“So, if I give him closure, he will move on and be happy and you will not pester me?” I think out loud while staring at the drink in my hand.
This is the third time he has bought this up. I guess I could do something.

“I will give him closure tomorrow.” I state as I put the glass down and get up.

I leave the table and four gawking people behind as I get out of the bar.

Present……..

Currently, I am at the Jamornhum Ltd., in the CEO's office, standing in front of him and I just handed over my wedding invitation to him.

He sighs and goes back to his work after saying, “ I will be there. After all you were a special friend. You can go now. Close the door after you.”

He didn’t even look at me once!
Phana said he looked bad. Fucking Liar!
If this is looking bad then I don’t know what handsome looks like.
Damn It! Get a grip!

Whatever, he is ignoring my presence.
I sigh, turn and walk out, but not before  making sure to bang that door, so hard, that he can no longer ignore.
