Fear

"I am afraid." A little boy muttered in a very small voice as he trembled looking at the thundering night sky.

He was in his parent's room, but they were not there. Nobody was there in the house except him.

It was late at night.
There was an on going thunderstorm.

His parents were supposed to be home a day ago since that day was his birthday, but they had urgent work so they didn't come back.

But, he was used to living alone even though he was eleven. His parents left him all the time. That was nothing new.

He had a babysitter who would only show up to check on him once in a while, but that was it.

He never felt bad any time.
But, today was different.

Its been raining since hours now and a thunderstorm came along a while ago.

There was only one thing that he was terrified of in this entire world and that was thunderstorm.

His babysitter didn't even check up on him once throughout the day.
He was alone, cold and terrified.

He waited near the front door for hours for someone to arrive, his parents or even the lazy babysitter. No one came.
As the sky darkened, he ran towards his parents room to hide. But, now nothing was helping.

He never was a crybaby, but his eyes were tearing up. He was so terrified.

He was constantly trying to call his parents, but they seemed too busy to answer him.

He jolted at another loud thunderbolt.
He started feeling so helpless that after so long he started crying. He was shaking, balling his eyes out, but still trying to reach his parents.

An hour of miserably trying, he gave up. He finally called someone else, someone who promised to always protect him. Eventhough he found the boy lame when he said that, now he was only hope.

Eventhough the little one hated feeling weak and he never trusted anyone, he couldn't help but reach out this time.

Phone ringed for not too long before he heard a cheerful voice from the other side, "BEAM!!! I missed you. Our vacation ends in a week and today is the first time you called me in two months holiday."

Beam cried loudly hearing the voice.

This caught the other boy off guard. He instantly enquired, "Beamy?? What's wrong? Tell me please!"

"Pha....No one's home. I am scared." Beam shakily replied.

Pha instantly went alarmed and called his father. Beam could hear Pha asking his father to take Beam to there home.

He heard an older voice say, "Wait for a while sweetie." and the phone was cut off.

Beam ran towards the door waiting again, but this time someone actually came. He saw Pha's father pull up in front and he just ran towards the older.

The moment the older saw Beam running towards him, he didn't hesitate in getting to the little guy faster.

He picked Beam up and went to lock the other's house before he took Beam home with him.

When Beam walked into Pha's house still trembling, he saw Pha waiting for him with his other boy, Pha's neighbor and there schoolmate Kit.

They ran towards Beam and hugged him tightly before Pha's mother took them to Pha's room and gave him clothes to change into.

She soothed him and finally the three fell asleep.

"Is he okay?" Kit asked.

This was his third time calling and asking Forth. When he hanged up the phone reassuring Kit, he got a call from Pha asking the same, again.

Forth was honestly fed up with them calling again and again, but he knew that these three were always like this.
They cared for each other too much.

Forth looked at the sleeping Beam in his arms, then he turned towards the window to look at the thundering night sky.

He sighed as he pulled the sleeping figure closer as if to provide reassurance of his presence.

His Beam was terrified of only one thing in this entire world and that was the thunderstorm. He remembered the first time he came to know that.

He was waiting to get to his dorm from his faculty when he got a call from a panicked Pha who asked him to rush to Faculty of Medicine and get Beam as soon as possible.

He didn't know what was wrong, but he didn't waste a minute before running to Faculty of Medicine, only to find a trembling Beam in the canteen. He had his head down, but one could tell how badly he was shaking.

Forth didn't hesitate. He instantly hugged the trembling figure. Beam was shocked at first before he heard Forth's soothing words. Soon He fell asleep in Forth's arms.

Pha had arrived as well.
He saw how wet Forth was and now Beam too being held by him.

He instantly took them to Beam's dorm.
Forth changed Beam's clothes and got changed too quickly before getting in bed with him and soothing his slightly shaking body.

Later, Pha told him about Beam's fear of thunder which he had guessed by then.

At first he scolded Beam for hiding something so important from him, but now he had made sure to never leave Beam's side whenever there was even a slightest chance of thunderstorm.

Also, apparently Pha and Kit have too never went back on there old promises.

Pha promised Beam that he would always protect Beam and Kit promised that he would always be there for him.
To Beam they were mere words at first, but these two made him believe in them.

The trio certainly was too weird, but Forth had made peace with it. After all, all Beam had before him were these two.

Now he was there to protect Beam and be there for him forever, but a little extra help can never be bad. Even if those two would call constantly like worried parents.

Sure enough, he got another call from a very concerned Kitty, accompanied by a too worried Pha.

Boy! Oh Boy! He wasn't getting any sleep before thunderstorm ended or Beam's 'parents' fell asleep.

Sigh!!!
