Dallas P.O.V.
Once I calm Brook down she quickly settles back into my arms and falls asleep with her head on my chest like always. It's funny how this girl who I barely talked to, I'd now do anything for including beating that son of a bitch, Andrew who someone how cheated on this beautiful, sweet girl, but that's a problem I plan to solve another day for now I just hold my girl tight and fall asleep.
I wake up to pounding on the door and groan because I am not ready to talk to people. "What," I call out my voice thick with sleep and Dawson comes waltzing in, asshole, "Is that really the Christmas spirit Dallas," his voice dripping with sarcasm and mocking me, "Yeah yeah merry Christmas," "Merry Christmas, Dawson," Brooklyn says with a yawn while turning her face to look at him, "Merry Christmas, Brook, now come on mom made Cinamon rolls from scratch lets go," Dawson says and walks out.
Brooklyn stands and stretches and I take a minute to let my eyes wander over his body. How the hell did I get so lucky? Sighing I Stand up and take Brooklyn in my arms, "Merry Christmas sweetheart," I say with a smile and she smiles in return, "Merry Christmas, love," she says way to excitedly for my taste but I brush it off because of the big smile on her face. I know today might be hard because of her dad but I am committed to try and make it the best I can for her. I chuckle remembering how she loves those Hallmark movies and will most likely force me to watch more, which I secretly don't mind because I love watching her watch them, tell her I said that and you're dead.
"Why do I feel like you're going to force me to watch more hallmark movies today," "Maybe," she says with a mischievous smile and I know I'm in for a long day of movies. We both walk downstairs to see, Dawson, mom, and dad in the kitchen. I walk over to the coffee machine to get a cup while mom walks over to Brooklyn and hands her a cup of what I assume is hot chocolate because she hates coffee for some reason, "We know you don't like coffee so we made you some hot chocolate," mom says and I chuckle.
After we eat mom's amazing cinnamon rolls we head to the living to open the present and everyone hands out their presents. Brooklyn manages to escape me trying to pull her into my lap and sits next to her mom and Dawson, I shoot her a fake glare but she only laughs her beautiful laugh that fills a room. The parents went first, as per usual, before I got to go as the oldest child. My parents got me an iPhone 11 that I've been asking for in deep red and I smile and hug both of them and kiss mom's cheek. Brooklyn's mom got a black sweater that I'd actually wear which is unusual for me but I see Brooklyn eyeing it so I know I won't get to wear it for long. Dawson got me sock as he does every year because neither of us never knows what to get each other hence the socks. Next is Brooks present and I glance at her to see her picking at her nails which I know she only does when she's nervous.
I open it slowly to see a medium-size silver heart with the single letter "B" on it, I hold it up and let it spin for a minute before mom speaks up, "Awww how beautiful," she says and Brooklyn's mom agrees, "I love it," I say honestly and look at Brook to see her cheeks tinted pink. "I'm glad," she says nervously and I stand and walk over to her, to kiss her cheek before leaning to whisper in her ear, "Thank you, sweetheart," I whisper then walk back to my chair and sit down with a small smile on his face while putting the keychain back and making a mental note to put it on my keyring.
Dawson also got an iPhone 11 but in dark blue, my pair of socks, then he opens Brooks present and holds it up to show a tumbler that has an old ass photo of the two of them. I bust out laughing while those two bicker about it. After those they stopped fighting Brook opened her presents, a gift card to the local coffee shop that I already know she'll use on hot chocolate, a coffee mug with a photo of her dad, a phone case from Dawson another old as hell photo of them from freshman year. Then it was my present turn, my knee bounces slightly while she tears the wrapping paper to show a small box that she opens slowly the box to reveal the small gold heart with a "D" engraved. Her beautiful blue eyes fill with tears as she looks at me and I look back nervously.
"I love it," she says causing a big grin to spread across my face as her mother leans over to look at the box.
"Oh Dallas that's so gorgeous," she says sincerely, "Would you'd help me put it on," she asks and I nod, before walking over to her and taking the small box while she stands and turns around. Brook moves her hair out of the way as I take the necklace and puts it around her neck carefully before clasping it together.
Brook turns around and smiles at me before giving him a kiss on the cheek, "Thank you," she whispers and I wink before walking back to my seat and she readjusts her hair as she sits down. Mom and dad look over at her neck and smile warmly, "You did good Dallas," they say at the same time and I smile at both of them before focusing back onto Brooklyn and onto the small heart that now hangs off her neck and I smile knowing somehow someway I got the best Christmas present of all, her.
