I pull my fluffy coat over my shoulders as I check myself in the mirror in the hallway, making sure that I looked alright since I was seeing my boyfriend for the first time in a few months. Because of lockdown, my work and his career, we barely had anytime seeing each other. And what didn't help was that I lived on the other side of the country, but finally I was able to move back to my small apartment in London, meaning I could finally see Ben after what felt like years apart from him.

I make sure I have my mask with me and then head out the door and into my small little Kia and head off to the small cafe about 5 minutes from my house. The drive is short and I finally arrive at the cafe, seeing Ben seated by the cafe window inside. I admire him as he sits with his head resting on his hands a he looks out at the busy street, completely missing me basically right in front of him.

I step out of the car, making sure I place my mask on my face, and walk into the warm cafe. I sigh in satisfaction as the smell of freshly baked goods like bread, muffins and scones, enter my nostrils. "Hi miss! Table for one?" A kind girl, probably in her late teens, asks me as she walks towards me. Despite wearing a mask, I can see her smile under the mask. "No. I have a table with my boyfriend." I say as I point at Ben, who still hasn't noticed me as he continues looking out the window.

"No problem ma'am. Have a lovely time." She says as she waves me goodbye and heads off to wait some other tables. I walk to Ben and chuckle, "You're so engrossed in lala land that you don't even notice your girlfriend?" I question making Ben's head snaps towards me. "Y/N! I've missed you so much." Ben says as he stands up and pulls me into a tight hug.

I chuckle into his shoulder as I hug him just as tight, missing these tight hugs so much. "Please sit down. I've already ordered you favorite drink and favorite pastry." He says making me smile. Before I can ask, he butts in, "A cappuccino with a croissant." He says making me smile wide. "Correct. I'm so proud of you." I say as I sit in the booth. I pull my mask off my face and set out a frustrated sigh, "These things are so annoying." I say as I place my mask to the side. Ben laughs as he nods his head.

A conversation starts flowing effortlessly as we talk non stop about our lives and how much we missed each other since being apart. Myself and Ben stand up, ready to leave as he grabs my hand. We thank the waitress and make our way outside. "Wanna go for a quick walk in the park?" Ben asks as I shrug, "Sure." I say as we walk across the street and walk to the end of the street to the small park.

We walk hand in hand as the cool winter air makes me shiver. "You know babe, every time I see you, I fall in love with you all over again." Ben says making me face him. "Aww babe, you're such a sweetie." I say as I pull him close to me and give him a tight hug. "I've missed you so god damn much, Y/N. I don't think you understand how much I missed your warm cuddles on cold mornings like this one and your funny dad jokes which are so awful that end up being hilarious. And most importantly, I miss your kisses after a game, whether I've won or lost." He says as he maintains eye contact throughout his little speech.

I smile wide, wide enough for the world to see under my mask, "I've missed you too, hun. Like, a shit ton." I say making him laugh. "You're here for good now, right?" He asks, a worrying look replacing his loving look. "For now, yeah. I might have to go back for a few weeks just to finish off the job, then I'm back here for good." I say making him breath a sigh of relief. "Then you can finally move in with me." He says as he sends me a cheeky grin. "I'm so down." I say as I lean my head on his chest, continuing to hug him, enjoying the warmth he was giving off.

"I love you." He says, making my heart flutter. "I love you too, loser." I say as I look up into his bright eyes. "You're full of shit, you know that." He says lightly pushing me. I laugh and shrug, "But you still love me." I say with a cheeky grin. "Come here you." He says as he pulls me close once again. "We won't be needing this." He says as he pulls his mask down and then pulls down mine.

Ben leans down as he presses a sweet kiss to my lips, one that I've been missing so god damn much. Ben pulls away as he rests his forehead on mine, "Wow, I missed those a hell of a lot more than I thought." He says making me giggle softly. "I missed those too." I say as I cuddle into his chest once again, happy to be back in my mans arms.
