I wave goodbye to my coworkers as I head out the front door, "Cheers guys! Have a good weekend." I say as I wave them goodbye. "You too Y/N! Don't have too much fun." My coworker, Jerrold, shouts making me chuckle. "The most spontaneous thing I'm doing this weekend is drinking wine in front of my couch." I say making everyone laugh. We say our final goodbyes and I finally make my way to my car with the afternoon sun glowing on my skin.
I let out a sigh of relief as I sit in the car, happy that the weekend has finally arrived and I could finally see my boyfriend of 3 years, Ben, after not being able to see him for 2 weeks because of international break. I start the car and make my way towards our shared home in the middle of Chelsea. I jam to some songs as it was a pretty lengthy drive to our house from my work as we (our work) recently relocated but that just meant I was able to play my guilty pleasure songs like "Barbie girl" (A/N - y'all can't even judge me cause I know y'all love that song too) without people judging me.
After around 30 minutes of performing my own concert in my car, I arrive at our house and park my car outside the front door. I get out with a massive smile on my face, excited to see Ben again. I lock my car and grab my keys and unlock the front door. As I step inside, I notice how it was pitch black and only barely lit by the few candles that were lit around the room. I frown and look around at the neighbors, trying to see if maybe the power has gone out but the fact that I could hear music playing, I knew it wasn't.
As my eyes adjust to the darkness and dimly lit front room, I notice roses decorating the floor with a letter on the ground. I frown and check the date in my phone, making sure I haven't missed our anniversary even though I was more than sure that it wasn't our anniversary today. Once seeing it wasn't our anniversary, I pick up the letter with curiosity and read it out loud.
"Hi babe. Please do me a favor and walk to that special rug, where we had our first and very special hug." I frown, wondering why he was referring to the rug where we first met. Ben was having a house party (at his old house but still the same rug) and this was the same rug where James introduced us and it's been history since. I walk to the rug that was in our dining room, which was also lit by candles.
I look at the rug, seeing no letter. I frown and look around, not seeing Ben anywhere. I lift the rug up and notice the letter hiding. "Haha." I say to myself as I open it up and read it aloud again, "Penalty kick! Don't you dare miss! This is the place of our first kiss." It says making me chuckle, remembering how we had our first kiss under the goals he has at home in order to practice shooting (as if he scores many goals).
I walk outside to the goal posts to see a letter tied up with a string, hanging from the top of the goal post. I rip it off with a smile, remembering the night of our first kiss. We were both so nervous and Ben even started laughing in the middle of our kiss. He will never live that one down. I open the letter and start reading, "I know I'm handsome and pretty, but keep your head in the game cause the next riddle is tricky. Come to the place where I treat your illness, but also where we do our business." I burst out laughing after reading his letter.
I start making my journey up to our bedroom as it was the only place that we've had sex. Tricky my ass. He just didn't know what to write. As I make it up to our bedroom, I see different gifts scattered on the bed, all of it being my favorite things. I smile as I see another letter. I grab it and open it up, "Finally the last riddle. Come find me before I skedaddle." I laugh at his words, clearly not being able to find a rhyme for riddle that made sense. I put the letter down and sigh. Where could he be?
I sigh, trying to think of anywhere he may be until it clicks, our hill. I put the letter down and basically run down the stairs and get into my car. I speed off to the hill, which wasn't far from where we lived. Ever since we moved to Chelsea, we found this hill and spent many afternoons staring up at the clounds and talking about our future. After about 3 minutes, I park right by the hill.
I jump out of my car and start my trek up the hill. Once I've made it, I see Ben staring off at the nearly dark sky, with his back facing me, whilst leaning on the tree at the top of the hill. I smile seeing that he was in a suite but for what reason? I don't say anything as I walk up to him and wrap my arms around his waist. He tenses up until he realizes it's me and breaths a sigh of relief.
"I'm surprised you figured out the riddles." He says whilst turning around making me chuckle. "I'm slow, not stupid." I say making him chuckle. "I love your skedaddle by the way." I say as he chuckles and looks down at me. "I didn't know what else would work with riddle." He says with a nervous smile on his lips. "So what's with all the riddles and the suite?" I question making him let out a shaky sigh.
"Y/N, we've been together for 3 years. Those 3 years have had their ups and downs but the fact that we are still hear as strong as ever shows me that we are definitely made for each other. Ever since I laid my eyes on you, I knew you were the one. We are soulmates and I hope you see that too. I love you so much and that is why..." he trails off as he starts going down on one knee, making me gasp and cover my mouth.
"Y/N, please do me the honors and become Mrs Chilwell." He say whilst opening the small box showing a stunning ring, making my eyes tear up. I nod my head, "Yes." I say as he smiles from ear to ear. He grabs my left hand and slips the beautiful diamond ring on my ring finger. He stands up and engulfs me in a tight hug. We don't kiss straight away as we both just hug each other. "I love you too, Ben." I say as I feel him squeeze me tighter.
"Eek! I'm your fiancé!" I exclaim making him chuckle. "I was so scared you were gonna say no." He says making me scoff. "How could I say no to this face?" I say as I squeeze his cheek softly. He shakes his head and leans down, pressing a passionate kiss to my lips. I sigh into the kiss, happy to be in his arms and his soon to be wife.
