"Y/N I'm so excited! Ahhh!" My little brother screamed around the living room as I shook my head annoyed yet smiling, happy to see my little brother happy. "This is gonna be the best moment of my life. Walking along side Aston Villa... I'm gonna hyperventilate." He said as my mother and father laughed at him. "Please don't. Your lungs aren't the greatest as it is." My mother said as we all laughed slightly.
My brother Bryan was diagnosed with cancer of the lungs a year ago. He was devastated because it crushed his dreams of playing professional football. He cried and cried for weeks but eventually decided to live his life as best as possible. That was the start of us ticking off everything on our bucket lists.
First was bungee jumping for Bryan. I begged him not to jump but he told me "YOLO bitch." And proceeded to jump. Gotta love a brother who isn't afraid to jump. I jumped shortly after. Felt like I lost all my organs and also passed out but I'm still here. Then we went on ever rollercoaster for my bucket list. It was so much fun until Bryan passed out on one of the rides but the picture that was taken was hilarious.
We did many other things but Bryan's number one on his bucket list was to watch his favorite team play. His favorite team being Aston Villa. He was always shouting or cheering at the TV almost every weekend and often weekdays. It was annoying but I started watching the games with him and started understanding all the screaming and shouting that boy does. At 10 years old, that boy has some vocals on him.
I messaged the club and was able to get tickets but also get Bryan as a mascot. I thought it would be cute and would be even better than his bucket list. This is where we are now, with him running around the whole living room behaving as if he didn't turn 10 a few days ago.
"I get to meet all the players like Jack and Tyrone!" He said as I smiled at him. "Go get ready buddy. We need to be there earlier than usual." I said as he nodded and ran upstairs to put on the Aston Villa home kit. I walk upstairs to get ready myself and just put on some ripped jeans and a fluffy jacket matched with some white sneakers. I walked downstairs to see my brother in his full match gear and a scarf in his hands.
"You need to look like you support them." He said as he handed me the scarf. I smile as I take it and put it on. "Enjoy babies! I'll see you guys later tonight." My mother said as I kissed her and my fathers cheeks whilst Bryan mugged both of them. "See you guys." Myself and Bryan said as we walked out the door and into my car.
The drive was fun as we sang many songs and he taught me a few songs that the fans normally sing. "So after I walk with them on the field, where do I go?" He asked as I took a left towards the stadium. "So I'll be sitting by the subs bench and when you're done, you're gonna run there and make a big leap over the barrier and we will sit there." I said a I saw him nod in the corner of my eyes.
Soon we arrived and walked into the stadium. I saw the happiness in my brothers eyes which made my heart me,t. We walked near the changing rooms and met with other kids that were there. They all greeted me and my brother as they all hit it off. "I'm gonna go sit down okay. I'll see you soon champ." I said as Bryan hugged me. "Thank you Y/N." he said as I smiled and walked to my seat.
I took some pictures for my mother and waited patiently until the game started against Leicester. I started a conversation if fellow fans until I heard music being played. I looked over and cheered for the team and my brother as he walked hand in hand with Tyrone Mings. I smile knowing Tyrone is his favorite player. He stands in the line with the rest of the players and looks over at me and gives me a million dollar smile.
He starts talking to Tyrone and points at me. Tyrone looks at me and smile as me. I smile back and wave slightly. I always thought Tyrone was super cute but didn't worry about him much since I was always taking care of my brother. Soon the game started and Bryan came running towards me. I helped him climb over the railing and he sat next to me. "How was it champ?" I asked as he smiled at me. "Amazing! Myself and Tyrone are now friends." He said a I smiled at him. "Oh, he wants to meet you later if that's okay." Bryan said as I looked at him weirdly but nodded. Why did he need to see me?
The game ended with Aston Villa losing pretty badly but that didn't mean anything to Bryan since he was so excited to see Tyrone later. I walk with him to where Tyrone said to meet him. After a few minutes of waiting in a room, Tyrone come strolling into the room. "Hi buddy! Hi I'm Tyrone." Tyrone said and extended his hand for me to shake after hugging my brother. "Hi." I said softly as I shook his hand.
"Would it be okay if I could talk to your sister for a bit?" He asked as my brother nodded. "The rest of the boys are in the changing room across the hall. They all wanna meet you." He said as Bryan nodded and basically ran out of the room. "Your brother is the sweetest." Tyrone said as I smiled at him. "He is annoying though as all brothers are." I said as he smiled at me.
"Listen, I just wanted to say that I really have a soft spot for your brother and I don't want him fighting this alone. I wanna make a donation." He said as I stared at him. "Really?" I asked as he nodded. "That would be amazing. I'd really appreciate it." I said as he smiled. "Here's my number. Just message me and we can talk details." He said as he handed me a number written on a piece of paper. I took it and and smiled at him.
"Haha, are you sure this isn't a way to just get my number?" I asked as he chuckled softly. "It's a two in own deal what can I say." He said as I shook my head but couldn't help smiling. "Thank you Tyrone." I said as he smiled at me and kissed my cheek. "Only a pleasure beautiful." He said as I couldn't help blush at his comment.
