"You know what, Y/N, you just used me! I'm actually going somewhere in life and then you use me!" Diogo shouts at me, making me flinch yet making my blood boil too. "How dare you say that! All I ever did was love you! I never, ever, based my judgment or love off of your fame. You're not even famous for crying out loud!" I shout at my high school boyfriend who scoffs.
"I know you can see I'm going somewhere in life and that is why you used me! Well, not anymore. We are through. Don't you ever speak to me again! I hope your next boyfriend breaks your heart like you've broken mine." Diogo whispers the last part, tears threatening to fall from his amber eyes. "No, no, Diogo. I'm not using you. Please, please don't leave me." I beg the teenager but instead he scoffs and rolls his eyes.
"I know you don't mean it. I know for a fact you don't. I mean, all you want is pictures to post on social media. For what? Huh!" He exclaims. I roll my eyes, "You're my boyfriend! Why can't I do that?!" I shout, still confused as to why this fight started. "Goodbye Y/N. I wish you the best in life." He says shaking his head and finally walking off into the distance in the hallway.
- 5 years later -
"Yay! A reunion? That sounds amazing. It's been years since I've seen these people." My friend, Donna, says making me chuckle. We've been best mates since high school and never lost touch. "I'm excited to see everyone. I wonder how life has treated them." I say with a smile. "How do you think you're gonna handle seeing Diogo there?" She questions. I sigh and shrug, "Who knows? Maybe he gives me a moment to explain myself. Maybe he forgave me." I say. "Maybe he only sees you as a friend and I think that's your biggest fear, correct?" She questions.
After 5 years, I never lost my feelings for Diogo. Boy was he right and would make it big one day. A fantastic player who has moved to one of the best and biggest clubs in the world, Liverpool. I supported him no matter what happened that day we broke up. It was tough but in the end, I still loved him for him and I was proud of him regardless.
"Ugh, why do you have to know me so god damn well!" I exclaim making her laugh. "Well, what can I say. I'm a witch." She says as she pulls faces at me, making me laugh. It's silent for awhile as she continues to paint her toenails red. "Do you think he would've forgiven me by now?" I ask Donna. She shrugs in response, "I'm not sure Y/N. I mean, it has been 5 years but maybe he's still really hurt from it." She says making me sigh. "I hope he has forgiven me." I say as I feel her hand on my shoulder, comforting me.

I put a emerald short dress on that goes just above my knees. "Ooo! You look sexy bestie!" Donna shouts as she walks out the bathroom with her red sparkly dress on that went down to her ankles. "I could say the same. Damn!" I shout as she does a twirl and then poses in a funny position making me laugh at her. Wow she hasn't changed since I met her.
I place some black heels on my feet and I do any other small things until myself and Donna were both ready. I admired her long curly blonde hair as she walked, making it bounce with every step. "I know you love my hair but stop staring." She jokingly says as we both get in the car. "Wanna trade hair?" I ask but she shakes her head, "I love you but not that much." She says as she starts the car as we make our journey back to our old high school.
As we arrive, I see many people crowded outside of the hall where the reunion was. We jump out of the car as many old friends greeted us with massive smiles on their faces. "Y/N! How have you been?" Thiago, my old maths buddy, asks as he pulls me into a tight hug. "Good thank and you? You haven't changed a bit." I say as I motion towards his little mustache. "It's sexy hey?" He questions making all of us laugh.
Over his shoulder I couldn't help but notice Diogo get out of his car. He was wearing a suite, which was a requirement, but damn did he look fine. He straightens his posture as he makes his was towards us but as he sees me, he stops in his tracks and moves towards other friends. "I'll see you inside girls!" Thiago says as he waves myself and Donna. We wave him goodbye as I feel Donna pat my shoulder, "You saw that rejection too huh?" I question as she chuckles, "Everything will work out." She says as she gives me a small smile.

The night was amazing as it was great to catch up with everyone. Even the people I didn't like in high school were nice too see and chat too. Nearing the end of the night, I decided I'd go to my spot where I always went too when I was having a tough time which was the swimming pool grand stands. Yes, a pool wow so private but during recess it was always empty and a good place to just relax.
I leave everyone and make my way to the pool. I smile as I walk in and notice how it has barely changed. A few upgrades then and there but all in all still the same pool I knew 5 years ago, a classic open area pool. I sit down on the edge of the pool and take off my shoes, and dip my feet in the water. The water was perfect as I sigh and stare up into the sky at the stars.
I'm lost in thought until I hear someone clear their throats. I snap out of my thoughts and I'm met with a nervous looking Diogo stood next to me. "Hey." He says in a low voice. I smile, "Hey Diogo." I say. It's silent once again, creating an awkward atmosphere until he clears his throat again, "Can I sit here?" He asks as he motions next to me. I nod and give him a small smile.
He rolls up his pants and sits next to me, dipping his legs in the water too. It's silent once again but a comfortable one this time around. "How has life been treating you?" He asks. I shrug, "Not bad at all. Life's going great for you, huh?" I say with a smile as I knock into him. "Haha yeah. Everything is just falling into place I guess." He says as he looks down at me and gives me a smile.
I smile back as I feel myself getting lost in those amber eyes of his. "I made a mistake 5 years ago." Diogo says making me chuckle, "Why did you think I was using you for fame?" I ask as he shakes his head, "Sydney." He says making me laugh, "She hated me didn't she?" I question as we both laugh. "I don't know why I believed her. Pretty dumb of me." He says as he looks at me again. "Pretty dumb of you indeed." I say as I stare into his eyes once again.
"Do you forgive me?" He asks as his cheeks turn a slight shade of pink. "It was high school. We were both pretty immature so of course I do." I say as he smiles from ear to ear. "So I can do this." He says as he leans forward but instead I pull him onto the pool with me. We both rise to the surface as he splashes me with water. "Sorry I had to get you back some how." I say with a cheeky smile.
He swims towards me and pulls me close, his hands wrap around my waist tightly. "I love you." He says barely above a whisper. "I love you too." I say back as I lean forward and place my lips on his for a kiss that I've been waiting for, for 5 years.
