Week 3
It's 9 am on the second day of the third week. Dylan wakes up and finds Yue is still on the bed, lying on her side, facing the door. He knows that means something is not okay with her and his first instinct is to place his hand on the curve of her waist. Yue winces, she is in pain.
"Are you okay, p... Shen Yue?" Darn it! I was gonna call her princess! Snap out of it Dylan!
It might be hard to be lovers
But its harder to be friends
Baby pull down the covers
Its time you let me inYue curls into fetal position.
"Hey, what is it?"
"It's my period..." she mumbles.
"Oh."
However, this seems unusual, she never hurt this much before. Why is it so painful this time?
"Can I do anything for you?"
She shakes her head, but Dylan does not like this situation one bit. He walks to her side and sits on the floor in front of her to examine her carefully.
"Are you cold?"
She shakes her head.
"Are you in pain?"
She nods.
"Do you feel weak?"
She nods.
He keeps asking yes or no questions in order to understand what is going on, he cannot help it, his medical training simply emerges when he sees someone is not well, especially Yue. His innermost desire is to make her feel better, soon. Apparently, there is not much he can do.
"I think you have been under too much stress. You need to take it easier; you don't have to do everything around here; I can help you."
Yue spends 4 days in bed. Dylan asks her over and over if she wants to go to the doctor, but her answer always is "I have my doctor right here" and she smiles softly, which in return melts his heart, which makes him want to hug her, which he does not do, which frustrates him... What a vicious circle!
Dylan positively hates seeing her that way. How can he fix her?
He spends those days sitting quietly next to her in bed, bringing her hot drinks, soups, painkillers, and vitamins, whatever he can think of.
Lay your head on my pillow
I sit beside you on the bed
Don't you think its time we say
Some things we haven't said"Thank you for taking care of me - she tells him when she feels a little better, - you always take good care of me."
"I didn't do much... Besides, you've been taking care of me for weeks. I should thank you too."
"You deserve it, I don't."
With those words Dylan realizes how remorseful she is. Could she really be sorry for leaving? Should he say something?
On the fifth day, Yue wakes up early and stands up as she normally does. Nevertheless, for the next two days she is pale, with a feeble voice and a dull spirit.
A wasted week, or was it?
Week 4
By now, Yue is feeling both hopeless and desperate: most of her time has gone by and Dylan has managed to resist her as best as he could, or so she believes. She has tried everything, in her opinion, and now the clock is ticking.
