Just in case you were wondering, this chapter is in Chloe's POV. I only did that last chapter because I was bored and had writer's block, so yeah. Enjoy this next chapter! Please comment, vote, fan and such. Also, the picture to the right is what I imagine Gemma would look like x

Chapter 7

I have a really bad temper and a really short fuse.  So, normally, if someone had just said to me what that blonde girl just did I would explode and completely lose my head.  But, I was just so damn exhausted and confused that I did the exact opposite.

I walked down the long hallway to the door she was standing at and just started bawling.  Not my best moment, if you ask me.  It was just as shocking when the strange, beautiful girl put her arms around my waist and pulled me into her bedroom.

“Who-who are you?”  I sniffled out as she sat down on her pale pink sheet-covered bed next to me.

“I’m Gemma, you?”

“I’m Chloe.”

“You don’t happen to be the Chloe that’s got poor Nereus in stitches?”

I shrugged, “Probably.”

Gemma was gorgeous, even in a pair of cotton sleep shorts and a UCSD sweatshirt.  She had a bundle of golden, blonde hair piled on her head in a bun and absolutely no makeup on her face and yet she looked ready to walk a runway.  If she hadn’t been so nice to me I’d probably hate her.

She had perfectly tanned skin, a flawless complexion, and bright hazel eyes.  Those same eyes were staring at me like I was some kind of bacteria under a microscope.  Suddenly feeling self-conscious, I wrapped my arms around my chest.  She must’ve noticed my discomfort because she quickly broke the silence.

“So, wanna explain to me why you came out of Adam’s room crying?  And in his clothes?”

I hot blush crawled up my neck and across my cheeks, was Gemma Adam’s girlfriend or something?  Crap.

“Uh, we weren’t doing anything, I just didn’t have any of my own clothes and um well you see it’s kind of a long story,”  The whole thing came out in a big jumble, and when I was finished I took a long drag of air and looked up at Gemma before I continued.  Before I could tell her the rest of the story, she spoke.

“I’ve heard,”  She paused to look at me, “Things.”

“Like what?”

“I heard Nereus on the phone with Adam yesterday, talking about what you are.”

I nodded, remembering the conversation they had while I was in the shower.

“So, are you a demigod, like us?”

So her looks really are inhuman, she’s must be a demigod like Adam.

“Well, that’s what Adam seems to think, but I have no clue what God could be my real parent.”

Her eyes widened.  “You don’t know what house your from?”

“Uh, no.”

“Why don’t you just ask your parents?”

“Well, I was going to explain that but you kind of cut me off earlier.”

She didn’t look sorry, but she still shrugged and said, “Sorry.  So why don’t you just talk to your parents about it?  Wait, do they know you’re here?”

A sudden wave of anxiety came over me as I realized my parents were being held somewhere by a group of psycho demigods.

I ran my hands over my face and looked at Gemma, “Well, it started when I decided to go on a run on the beach...”
