Opens with an overhead shot of Rocket City, then cuts to a car chase where the RCPD are pursuing a group of thieves.
Robber 1: We're done for.
Robber 2: Not if we handle this properly.
Robber 1: What do you want us to do? Ditch the cargo?
Robber 2: Exactly.
Robber 1: Oh, I get it now!
One of the robbers throws one of the crates from the trunk.
Dayton: [jerks to the side of the road] We're gonna need backup.
Robber 1: It worked!
Robber 2: What did I tell ya?
A loud thud sounds as something lands on top of the car.
Robber 1: What was that?
Robber 2: Get ready for another rou--
The driver's window breaks as the driver is dragged out and thrown into the street. The car continues speeding forward, crashing into a building.
Robber 2: [gasping in pain] No... Please...
A shadowy figure walks up to the driver.
Robber 2: Who... Who are you?...
As the shadowy figure claws the driver to death in the street, the scene transitions to the next day. DAYTON and the investigative team are at the factory that was robbed. DOM arrives on the scene, and appears to be arguing with another officer.
Dom: Hey, look, I just came to help.
Officer: Mr. Wilde, this is a crime scene. I'm afraid that you have to leave immediately.
DAYTON walks up.
Dayton: That won't be necessary. He's with me. Fashionably late as usual.
Officer: Sorry, Malick. I wasn't aware that he was with you.
Dayton: Just let him through.
The officer moves aside to let DOM into the crime scene.
Dom: Thanks Dayton. What exactly are we looking at here?
Dayton: That's a good question. By the way, thanks for agreeing to help out around here. I really appreciate it.
Dom: It's no problem. Thank you for offering me a job.
Dayton: Well, these are the two guys that hit this place last night.
DAYTON shows DOM a set of mug shots.
Dayton: Their names were Clyde and Mark Mardon.
Dom: "Were"?
Dayton: They were both murdered last night shortly after their heist. One lost control of the car, the other was found dead in the street.
