Jasper's PoV

I looked at her, sleeping on that damn passenger seat, as if she has no care in the world. Well, she actually doesn't- not the fucking point here!

I just parked my car into the penthouse parking space and yet again I am debating if I should let her sleep or just carry her back to the penthouse.

... In a tow sack.

As much as it's tempting, I don't want Zia to land here unannounced. Again.

I tried to wake her up but... no dice. Why the fuck did I literally push down those painkillers. She would be out like a light unless she threw those medications.

"Fucking hell Venere, wake up!" She didn't move a fucking muscle, even after yelling so loud, it must have echoed throughout the parking space.

"Looks like I have to support her to walk all the way to penthouse." I muttered under my breath, but I was sure it was loud enough to be heard by her. Yet she didn't jump up straight, like I had expected.

Now there's no other option but to really support her. Exiting the car, I walked around to the passenger's door and opened it. I tried to get her to lean on Ben's car but she just fell on the concrete floor when I turned around to close the door and lock the car.

"Fottuto inferno" (Fucking hell) Facepalming, I bent down to pick her up from the concrete floor and walked towards my private elevator which lead straight to the penthouse.

I certainly wasn't going to make it hell for myself by forcing her to walk in sleep and have both of us off balance multiple times by the time we get back to the penthouse. She would definitely breathe on my neck if she sees lividi (bruises) on herself.

Unlocking the elevator with my iris, I entered the elevator and the door closed.

I looked at her face to see if she was faking this. Yeah, she's really addormentata (asleep). She looks too damn diabolica (devilish), even while sleeping. Yet, I partially disagree with what Janet said.

That day, when we went to meet her, Janet said during the meeting that Mac is the one behind my attacks and the alliances we're losing in Europe. But still she doesn't know that the person she thinks is my 'fiancèe' is Mac. And if Mac was really doing all this, then surely that damn idiot Caligo would have said something.

I had bribed Caligo into telling everything about Mac, each and every fucking detail, from what's her deal to moral ethics she abides. Since he isn't close enough to her, he just couldn't tell me why she decided to make our lives living hell. But her working style and every other question I had about her were answered.

And I do have my doubts because of which I can't rule out what Janet said either. The dangers have risen so much- I can't believe I fucking thought this but- I can't trust my crew with anything confidential either. They might betray me or lose their lives because of it.

I have seen even my father's most trusted people cambiare lato (switch sides), just for the sake of power. I won't make the same mistakes my father or I did before.

The elevator stopped and that's when I heard voci (voices).

I looked up and saw Mark and Jenna, looking so surprised, they weren't this surprised when Jenna pranked them on their birthdays.

"What the fucking hell Jasper!" They both yelled. Oh Cristo, not again.

"She's not dead if that's what you're thinking." Rolling my eyes, I walked ahead, ignoring their shocked faces. Haven't they ever seen any man carrying a woman in his arms? Why the fuck are they acting like it's 1950's?
